I saw Liza M in concert last night at The Morongo Casino Resort in Cabazon. She was brilliant! Probably better than when I saw her at The Palace in NYC, in December.
There was no intermission, no Kay Thompson/back up dancers section. Just Liza, the music...and, her amazing orchestra. She did have a brief 10 minute break as the orchestra jammed, and each individual musican was showcased and introduced. These guys were fantastic!
She introduced her brother Joe Luft and Kaye Ballard from the audience. I will say this, though. I was absolutely amazed as to how rude many people in the audience were - arriving very, very late - like an hour, people getting up in the middle of a song to get a drink, or people getting up in the middle of a song and leaving. I guess since the venue was a casino, the mindset, is to get back into the casino and gamble? I don't know. Some people just don't have any common sense.
