For if'n you're looking for good dance music.
Kiki
There is so much I love about that clip I can't even single one moment out.
I will give a special mention to the cassette that was displayed though. Awesome. (Where was the K-Tel logo though?)
On a side note I have never heard Homme's name pronounced until just now. I always thought it was said like "home" or maybe "aahm".
The more you know....
on a side side note I can't wait until Tuesday!
I love the Scissor Sitters. Peer brilliance--can't wait to see them on tour.

Everyone loves the Scissor Sitters.
I found that informercial painful-sorry kids. The cadence of his voice was awful.
I am liking the new disc so far. Not as much as Night Work, but its growing on me. I'm looking forward to seeing them live.
It's not as solid as Night Work, particularly the last half of NW, but I think that comes partially from working with so many different producers this time. That said, in some ways I think it's a more fun album--I could take or leave the bonus tracks on the deluxe edition though.
While I loved Only The Horses, I found the video pretty dull by SS strandards. But am loving their new video for Baby Come Home which reminds me their classic earlier ones

The "deluxe" version is a joke. The bonus tracks are duds and one of them is a an Ana voicemail. I'm actually liking it less, the more I listen. I think Jake has been spreading himself thin.
I think the new Gossip disc is WICKED HOT. That's the album of the summer.
I've never been a huge Gossip fan but love the new material, though I've heard some longeterm fans don't like the slightly poppier direction (i didn't think it ws that drastic a change).
I actually agree with you about the Deluxe edition really being pointless--here in Canada anyway it was sold for a few dollars cheaper, than the normal one so I got it (this seems to be common with early releases of albums with two editions--like Madonna or Gaga...)
Jake has been making a lot of appearnces, but I didn't think he was particularly working too hard (though I guess he did have Tales of the City last year but he said they did this album in record time, writing for only about a month last Fall).
I think the little amount of time spent shows in the recording. It's missing something, but I keep playing it on repeat hoping I get into it more. I adore the band and want to support them.
Funnily, I never liked Gossip. I liked Heavy Cross but that was about it. Heard the new disc once and had to have it. It's splendid.
Magic Hour seems to be a mash-up of Ta-Dah and Night Work. I actually prefer the tracks that lean towards Ta-Dah.
That sums it up perfectly Matt.
Personally, I like the two different styles. I wouldn't want them to abandon their Elton John-esque sound, but I love their more dance oriented songs too.
So for me, this is a perfect blend. Reviews seem to differ, but I think it's a great album and a whole lot of fun.
So, let's have a kiki!
Damn thing is stuck on repeat (not literally). I can't stop playing it.
And I'm gonna go ahead and say the deluxe edition song is worth it if for no other reason than they name check Mummenschanz.
Classic.
I'm going to see them live and hope they turn me on to the new stuff more. I also plan to stalk Jake. :)
A rather brilliant video made for Let's Have a Kiki. The sad thing is that I can name where nearly all of these clips come from

Just back from seeing the Scissor Sisters. This was my fourth or fifth time seeing them and it was a very celebratory show. They actually gave a shout out and much praise to the Videodrome Boston, the creators of the clip Eric linked. Jake said that they could see no reason to make their own video because Videodrome's was so perfect.
"Only the Horses" was the first encore song and it was rendered beautifully. They did a great version of their "Comfortably Numb" cover, which made me think of Iflit. When we exited the club in the shadow of Fenway Park, crews were moving big white boxes in there for tomorrow night's performance of The Wall by Roger Waters. Life is a circle!
Also, Babydaddy has somehow grown handsomer. Ana mentioned his "Burt Reynolds chic" and it was right on the money.
