Good, old-fashioned fun:

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton, expected to decide today whether Scooter Libby will go to prison or remain free while appealing his conviction, said from the bench this morning that he's received threatening letters as a result of the 30-month sentence he imposed on Libby last week.

"I received a number of angry, harassing mean-spirited phone calls and letters," Walton said. "Some of those were wishing bad things on me and my family."

Walton said he's keeping the letters as evidence just in case somebody decides to seek retribution against him.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Love this part:

Judge Walton also dealt with defense claims that Libby should be kept free from jail pending his appeal. He reportedly expressed his anger at the quality of an amicus curiae brief submitted by former Judge Robert Bork.

"These are intelligent people, but I would not accept this brief from a first year law student. I believe this was put out to put pressure on this court in the public sphere to rule as you wish," according to a paraphrase of the Judge's statement...

Rove must be wondering how that particular judge slipped through the cracks.
