I liked Matts posts. I always pictured him as a woody allen hiding behind those Jake Gylenhall pics. I hope he comes back. i am sure he is already here under another identity.

Well, while Matt G will admit himself that he gets into the drama on here, I have never seen Adgal do anything that would merit any attack. The only thing I can think of is that some Wicked freak was jealous that these guys were going to Idina's last performance.

Regardless, whoever attacked her is a f#@&ing punk and deserves to have his/her a$$ whupped.

But, I hope she is really just taking a break. And, Matt G will come back, too. These Farewell Tours never last for long.

I don't know what happened with Addy, but I don't believe Matt_G has posted since certain individuals ganged up on him on the last thread he started. And I for one, miss his caustic humor and sarcastic wit.

And I believe the posts in that thread that contained the personal attacks were all deleted by the management.

This board is seriously becoming one big hate-fest. I remember this past summer there was almost no bashing or anything and it was great but now all the original folks are leaving because of all this crap that is going on. Makes me mad!

Spider, really, not for nothing, but every three months somebody says the board used to be nicer three months before. Who can forget Mary_Ethel's eloquent, moving reminiscences last month about the good old days of OCTOBER?? Of course, the minute I joined people said how much nicer the board was the day before. Of course they were right. Just doing my part.

Ok; this is all here say. So don't shoot the messenger. this is what I have been told happened.;

Corine and certain posters started insulting Matt_G, who sometimes falls into these traps too easily, but it got very ugly (the posts were since deleted) and he left, as did Princeton78.

Addy had defended him, and then she started getting harrassed with abusive PMs. Then one of them (?) logged on as a sock puppet impostor called NYAddie, and she got very freaked out and decided it was time for her to go too.

NOW SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.

Haha, Namo. That is true but I will always think of this past summer as the "Golden age" of the message board. I just joined and everyone welcomed me in with open arms and I immediately got a few friends whom I still chat with today. Hardly no one bashed each other (we had the occasional person, but nothing like it is today). It just seemed like once everyone went back to school it started it's slow slope downwards.

when you describe the "orginal folks" spider, to whom are you referring? those who have been members since the board began? those who've been members since the year the board began: 2003? or those who've been members since around the time you began posting?

i mean what with the powerposting that's in vogue lately everyone's a legend within a month or so of joining so we can't define it by that. hmmpth. i'm stumped.

it's healthy to take a break from the board once in a while. i would imagine that it will do addy a world of good and subtract a layer of drama from her life. she'll come back if she so chooses enthused and energized.

as far as the other, well, mama said it ain't right to gloat.

Spider, see, I think there are always undertones and arguments, but new people don't notice them because they are just getting their bearings. It's like theater, there's the text, and there's the SUBtext, which people (not me, but you know, mortals) usually miss the first time through.

And Iris, dear, I would check my sources before I go publishing slander*. Matt_G DID in fact, misinterpret something I wrote and after SEVERAL anger filled private messages from him it was very clear that he was not going to see anything written in response to his thread (I'm sorry, that letter to the Broadway theater owners DID read as if he felt he were entitled, whether or not that was his meaning) as anything but a blatant personal attack. He even mentioned a clique of people who hated him. Personally, I found it sounding a little paranoid. But hey, you can't change somebody's view of the world.

But look, LOOK at the list of names your source (*?) supplied you with. How likely does THAT group look?

Yeah, Iris, you got it pretty much right. It is quite sad, actually. Namo, actually the board was a lot of fun a while ago and from time to time it gets fun now, but there wasn't quite as much nastiness in the last 6 months as there is now. I'm not blaming anyone in particular, it is just a general feeling. I don't think Matt and Princeton are checking in here and I know Addy was fed up with it and is busy with more important things. As far as that goes I have been much less interested in checking in here.

I sing for myself. I sing when I want, whenever I want to, just for me. I sing for my own pleasure. Do you understand that?
