Segway question
Segway question#0

I am considering a 3.5hr tour of Budapest where everyone rides on a segway. I was just wondering if anyone here has ridden one for any period of time, and if it would be comfortable? Would my partner bitch and moan? What to do, what to do......so any who have ridden one, please respond.
My other option would be a 4hr tour to Godollo, summer home of Empress Elizabeth of Austria, and home to a royal stable of Lipinzzaner horses......

deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say

our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay

yeah, I was wondering about that....I remember the streets from 1998, and I was not impressed

A friend has one. The ride is pretty smooth, you don't have to do much. I only rode it once, but I do recall barely feeling the cracks on the road. It took me about 5 minutes to get a good handle on it, but once you do, it's pretty interesting.
You would be on your feet for 3.5 hours, but it would definitely beat walking for 3.5 hours.

and we will have walked for an hour and a half the same day on the Parliament tour.....and will be walking every other day, as that's what we prefer to do on vacation, so I think in that aspect we'd be ok.
These are places we would see anyway, so just not sure it's worth it.....
My partner hates organized day or half-day tours, mainly because the few we've done have sucked.....
And I am sneaking a 4-hr one in on him to Konopiste Castle outside of Prague (which he will not find out about until the morning of.....) So I may just say no.....

somehow I can't skip this.....it also houses the Crown of St. Stephen, which my uncle was in the group that the Hungarian resistance gave it to for the US to protect it from the Russians

I have ridden a Segway. It takes a few minutes to get the hang of it, but once you do, it's quite nice. It amazes me how it stays balanced and how much control you actually have over it. It's comfortable. Like pushing a grocery cart, without actually having to "push," (or move you feet for that matter).
At the same time, unless I was trying to give my feet and legs a rest, I'd just as soon walk. I like walking and on the Segway there's no exercise benefit!
But if your tour is on a Segway - yes they are easy enough to ride. I rode mine on a smooth surface though. Not sure how it would do on the bumpy streets.
And before I forget - have an AMAZING trip!
