I'm boycotting this film for casting all the major parts -- MLK, LBJ, Coretta, Wallace -- with Brits. It's bad enough that Brits (and Aussies) are oversaturating American cinema, but African-Americans have a hard enough time making it in Hollywood. So to continually give plum roles to foreign blacks is an insult to black American actors. (Also see last year's 12 Years a Slave and the upcoming Jesse Owens biopic)

Without those damn Brits at Pathe putting up most of the money, there wouldn't be a SELMA movie right now. And do you think anyone in Hollywood would have given the directing assignment to a largely unknown African American woman?
I'm sure the many African American actors in the film are quite happy that those British producers and British actors helped the film get made. But you go on and feel like you're taking a stand if you need to.

It was quite wonderful! Great performances, direction, and cinematography! It was quite a powerful film. The moment that struck me the most was the "Four Little Girls" scene....the imagery still plays in my head.
