Senior Skip Day

Today is Senior Skip Day and even though my brother's a Junior, he's skipping school today.
Did anyone skip school on Senior Skip Day?

in my day, we called it Senior Sneak Day, and we all went to Santa Cruz

In my high school, everyone leaves for lunch and doesn't come back. It's expected - you'll see everyone, including teachers, at the beach.
There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

We had two senior skip days, one for the AP kids and one of the other kids, since the other kids didn't have to take a freakin AP Bio 2 test.

We spent the day in Dallas cruising the city. It was great fun.

Yup, we went up to Mt Fuji, which is a very expensive hibachi restraurant, fun day.

As an incoming senior, I want to say that in my mind, there will be more than one senior skip day :) :)

Half of my senior year was a senior skip day. I soooo didn't want to be there. My last semester was a half day, which was sweeet. On our "official" skip day, they threatened to not let you walk at graduation if you were cought skipping without a note.

I didn't do it either... I actually didn't know when it was, till I showed up and relized I was one of like 7 seniors that went to school that day LOL

I just found out that I will be teaching seniors next school year. There will be no skipping my class, unless you want a referral.

I had perfect attendance in HS until I skipped on Senior Cut day. It was totally worth it.

i've gotta agree with the half of senior year was senior skip day. it so was. i had like, 2 actual classes. ap english and history. that was it pretty much. yeah, i skipped a lot. they threatened us with that not walking stuff too... which was fine with me. i didn't actually want to go to graduation. it's long and boring. but yeah, the whole class skipped, nothing they could really do about it.

My senior skip day was the day that a big project was due so I just decided to go to school and it was on the day when I was the Theater Assistant. so I always had fun on those days making calls to tons of people. but then I took off at least one day during tech week.
need to defrag my brain.

Hmmmm-- who will be the first to point out misspellings in the postings of those who "skipped" and draw a correlation?

MEF cut the kids some slack. Don't be the teacher who cracks the whip! Seniors have been skipping (or ditching as we said at my school) long before you were teaching and will be long after you've retired. Look at is as a day you don't have to teach the lil ingrates!

I'm such a hypocrite, too, since I had far from perfect attendance in high school.

My schedual for senior year kicked ass:
period one: modern american lit (my only required class. I would have enjoyed it if I had a different teacher that didn't alreday hate my brother)
period two: journalism
period three: drawing
period four: guitar 1 (rock)
period five: guitar 2 (classical)
period six: resource
period seven and eight: SRP (student regulated period... basically do whatever you want, including going home)

I usually left after guitar class after checking in with the resource teacher when I had no homework. :)

Our Senior Ditch day is the monday after Prom weekend. Dear Lord, the school was EMPTY.
