I was nervous when I met Ms. Bernhard--but she was absolutely sweet. Celebs don't unnerve me as much anymore, but the recent ones that DID leave me speechless were Colin Farrell, Meryl Streep, Hillary Clinton, and the aforementioned Sandy B.
I think if I ever meet Julianne Moore or Madonna, I will implode.

That is such an amusing (and amazing) story. Thanks for sharing :)
My idol is Barbra, but unless she drops out of the sky and lands on me, I doubt I'll ever meet her.
Only 10 more days till she arrives in Boston!

No. There are seats left in all areas except in the $200 range.

garland, wow. i think what i like most about your post is that you say you're no longer "impressed" with people. that's amazing. i wish i could be like that. but no, if i met babs... the entertainer who has had more of an impact on me than any other... i would throw up. a lot. it would be ugly. but wow. she touched you! she touched you! and suddenly, nothing nothing nothing is the same! bless you my friend. you are way lucky.

I met my idol when i was 17. I had sent a very nice gift that I had made, and security made me wait almost an hr but then escorted me to the dressing room. I was speechless and pretty freaked out. I had worshipped him since i was 15.
3 yrs later I was waiting in a hotel lobby trying to catch a glimpse of him, when his body guard came over and questioned me for awhile. That evening a limo was arranged for me to go to the after show party.
I spent the next 2 yrs sleeping w/ my idol on and off. then we had a big fight and broke it off.
That was the 70s. Things were different then. and I won't kiss and tell. But 3 yrs ago he started emailing me so maybe things are cool now. We're both so old.

Audra was there. Why didn't she ooze over Audra? Why didn't she even mention Audra? If she really was there she would have noticed Audra.

Damn right. I hate these elaborate scenario trolls. If you didn't see Audra, you were not in the house.

It's Barry Manilow.

Wait a minute. She went to see Barry Manilow? Audra would not go to Barry Manilow, so I guess it's OK that she didn't see her.

She better not have gone to see Manilow. THAT would make me jealous as all get-out.

Why, in all the clips I keep seeing of Barbra Streisand, does she appear to be wearing a tent?

It's Barry Manilow. And I've heard that same story from two other people.
