She played Amy Vining, Laura's half-sister on General Hospital back when the show was great and there was no such thing as Sonny Corinthos. She was 49.
Namo, are you sure it was poor plastic surgery? I remember noticing something from the very start seemed off about her face but I was giving credit to ABC for her talent rather than looks.
even tho i never followed GH, i was sad when i read this. anytime i was stuck in a place where i couldnt avoid GH, i would pray that it was an episode with AMY because at least then i would have *some* kind of laugh!
ya'll know she was one of the pioneers of home shoppin!
They never gave Amy much to do. I remember a brief romance with a boxer in the eighties, but she was mostly in Genie's shadow. Shel wasn't the greatest actress, but she was memorable as Amy and I liked the Webber family dynamic. Robin Mattson was probably the best actress on the show in that era.
"She was definitely the first of many plastic surgery disasters of the women on GH."
I'll say! I remember Jackie Zeman being one of the most naturally beautiful women on television. I'm sure she felt tremendous pressure to look good, but she's had MORE than a nip/tuck...her nose is all screwed up, she's got implants in her face, etc.
