There's no depth to the insanity and hatred in some people. Here's a man who denies the holocaust ever happened, and who's sorry that it didn't.

The terrifying part of it is that you know he's not alone.

Apparently the shooter posted a thread on FreeRepublic about Obama's birth certificate that received 200+ replies, but was pulled after the shooting.

I am just bumping in case anyone heard of collections going to the slain guard's family.

There's video on nbcwashington.com right now of a live prayer vigil going on at the Museum, and one of the speakers read off a phone number to call re: donations, but I couldn't hear all of it. Keeping an eye on the website to try and get that info again.

I was at the Holocaust Museum one week before the shooting as a chaperon on an 8th grade field trip. As I was watching the news last night I realized that Stephen Johns was the guard who helped us through security. He was easy to remember, not only because of his size, but because of the way he interacted with our students. From that brief interaction we had it was easy to see that Mr. Johns loved his job and was a kind person. It's so very sad.

This is going to sound horrible, but I hope the shooter just dies from his wounds and saves everyone the pain and expense of a trial and incarceration.
