My summer job building was just a few blocks down on 5th Ave. Wouldn't often go to that area except to the comics book store right around the ESB.
This is insane. ABC 7 initially said possible robbery but an early morning robbery with that many people sprayed with bullets?
The reports of shot and injured are all over the place. Only confirmation is the shooter being dead.

I'm seeing different numbers. In that article PJ, it says the gunman killed two people, one his target, the other a bystander, and then cops killed him.
On CNN, they are reporting 2 dead, including the gunman.

I literally walked out of the DMV one block away when this happened. As if going to the DMV first thing in the morning wasn't unsettling enough!

Supposedly the gunman got fired yesterday and came back to kill his boss today. He wasn't allowed entrance into the building so he waited outside. The cops seemed to be on the scene instantly. I guess the security who wouldn't let him in the building notified them.

Chicago has serious gang problems. It's always had a high homicide rate but they've been good at keeping it quiet. For some reason (probably Obama and Rahm) the national media is picking up on it more now.
