Shot in the Dark: Films Similar to Amelie?

Love Amelie.
A little too much
Specifically, the soundtrack.
My bestie and I listened to it all day today while sleeping in the park
And we have danced... with our cats... to the music

Are there any OTHER foreign films you would recommend that are as cute, spunky, eclectic as Amelie? Or any movie soundtracks similar in "sound"? So far, the only other movie-soundtrack I like equally is The Truman Show. I'm a picky-listener.

I have watched two Wes Anderson films the past week (The Darjeeling Limited and Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou). His films have a unique style to them. A lot of uniformity and color. You can tell he's a perfectionist. They are also borderline pretentious, but it works for the most part. The soundtracks might be worth checking out too.

Amelie is a wonderful film. Paris Je T'aime, though not that similar to Amelie, comes to mind. The movie consists of around 20 short films with the topic of love in Paris. Some of the short films are dreadful, but some of them are fantastic.

Try the soundtrack Little Miss Sunshine, which feels more like a score. You should also check out the soundtrack to Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and if you haven't already seen the film, you should. One of my favorite soundtracks is to Something's Gotta Give, but that might not be what you're looking for.

As far as soundtracks go, look into Yann Tiersen's (the composer of Amelie) other stuff. And as far as a movie with a VERY similar feel try Love Me If You Dare and A Very Long Engagement (The latter has MANY of the same cast and creative from Amelie).

There's always Pushing Daisies for a quick Amelie-like fix. Especially the first couple of episodes...I was like, jeez, this is like an Amelie and Big Fish sandwich.
