I might expect this in LA or NY - but in Hawaii?
"HONOLULU - Josh Holloway and his wife reportedly were robbed at gunpoint in their home. There was no indication that the robber recognized the 36-year-old actor, who plays hunky con man Sawyer on the ABC castaway drama "Lost," television station KHON reported. "

you've obviously never been to Hawaii.......it can be as dangerous on Oahu as it can anywhere else. Crime among native Hawaiians, and Samoans due to the poverty level can be really bad at times.
And I know of no tourist destination where crime does not exist......
Hana, a very, very tiny spot on Western Maui that all tourists drive to can be scary. We drove into town into what apparently was some sort of local fair, and the looks we got were worse than anything I ever got anywhere else in my travels. We left quickly.
What surprises me is he does not have a security system on his house? Or if so, it had to have been turned off......very stupid
Right, like crime only happens in New York or L.A.?

Tourists' paradises are often built on a foundation of low-paid hospitality employees. Surprise, surprise.

Well, I was actually focusing on areas where most movie productions occur. I live in LA, and was born and raised in Los Angeles.
I was going to start adding other cities, but again, I was focusing on where the US entertainment hubs are located.

because crime doesn't happen in Palm Springs, CA; Tulsa, OK; or Crivitz, WI?
Ummm . . . OK - I will Edit to make sure all sensibilities are covered . . .
BTW Elphaba - the biggest crime of all was the game last night and the call on the third out in the 9th in Chicago.
oh You, I know....could you believe that......I was jumping up and down, screaming at the TV.........thank God I was home alone, LOL

Corpus Christi -- where Selena was killed.
But I wouldn't know anything about crime. I live in New Jersey. There's no crime here.
I wouldn't recognize this guy (never heard of him), so am I a suspect?

Elphaba, I saw the replay when I got back from Temple last night . . .
It was a "WTF" moment.
Let's hope for a sweep back home.

YWIW, could you please add Intercourse, PA to the list? That's a CRIME HAVEN.
excellent post Nom. I've had Hawai'i as part of my sales territory for over 15 years, and have made some close friendships there. While it took a long time to gain their trust, they are friends for life, and make you feel like family.
Interestingly enough, the place I felt safest on the planet was the Big Island.
I am assuming you live in Hawai'i? Lucky you.
Island time is a lot like Desert time....
yes you, here's hoping.......my Aunt, the biggest yankee fan on the planet, still hasn't forgiven me, lol
Intercourse, PA!
It figures: only an Amish town would have that name!
"Intercourse is the hub where the Amish and local folks do their business and host thousands of visitors each year . . . The Village stands as a clear reminder of our traditional American heritage as people live by a simpler way of life."
And, Calvin, Corpus Christi, done.
