"Jim didn't have breasts, and I think that was the reason," she told told Folha Online, a Brazilian news site. "He should have taken home that Oscar."
Weaver also voiced her disapproval of the Best Picture choice, suggesting it should have gone to 'Avatar.'
"In the past, 'Avatar' would have won because they [Oscar voters] loved to hand out awards to big productions, like 'Ben-Hur.' Today it's fashionable to give the Oscar to a small movie that nobody saw," Weaver said.
Ouch

Sigourney Weaver has always thought quite highly of herself. Her presence in Avatar was enough to make it Best Picture.

I'm surprised there was room for her ego with Cameron's around.

Do you remember when she was nominated for an Oscar and lost and the camera caught her making a very unpleasant face when the winner was announced?

Wait, did she actually see AVATAR and did she actually see THE HURT LOCKER? I can't imagine anyone who saw both thought that POCAHONTAS 3-D should have won any top awards, I mean, any movie that's not even nominated for Screenplay doesn't deserve to win Best Picture in my book (though some have, luckily not this year). So disappointing, I actually really like her :-/
Funny that James is taking the loss way better than Sigourney. He read the script for THL when it was still in production and was very supportive of Bigelow doing the film.
Oh, Sigourney...get your boney ass out of my sight.
Matt, one of my favorite lines from "Working Girl"
LOL...I dont think that merger with Trask Enterprises is going to go through.
Why that little... slut! Bitch! Secretary!
Wow. I always liked her. Went to hear her speak one evening and was really impressed. This is a bit disappointing.
I still haven't seen Avatar. If they do the re-release this summer I will check it out. The trailers didn't make me want to run and see it though. I don't go to the movies a lot so I haven't seen all of the best picture noms. yet. But so far, I liked District 9, Precious and An Education more than The Hurt Locker. Wasn't crazy about UP.

I really wanted An Education to pull an upset. I thought that movie was just marvelous.
I've always liked her. I have some friends who have worked with her and said she's quirky as all get-out. Here she's wrong, though.
Besides the Oscar should have gone to A SERIOUS MAN.

Well....she's right isn't she? It's true in the past the Oscar usually went to big, extravagant productions. I mean look at Around the World in 80 Days. That's the type of movie Oscar used to honor even if it wasn't the best.
I don't agree with what she said about Cameron/Bigelow...but I don't think either of them should have won anyway.
After hearing Sigourney's statement, Jane Campion and Sofia Coppola are each opening wondering what on earth did they do wrong.
Comparing Avatar to Ben-Hur is like comparing a genetically enhanced fruit to fruit from the tree of knowledge.
I definitley didnt get A Serious Man, but was hoping for An Education or Precious to upset, especially Carey Mulligan.
I need to see An Education again. I saw it on a flight to London and was underwhelmed. Some great acting, but I just wasn't taken in by the story.
He doesn't have breasts?
I loved some of the obvious jokes at the Oscars about CGI. I think it is sad that sigourney even thinks she needed to say something in James Cameron's defense or be sly about Bigelow.
And I hate Cameron's hair style.
