Sinus Problems, coupled with weight

Man, I've been in sinus hell this year! Had a sinus infection about 5 weeks ago, and now it's back again. Anyone else suffer from this curious malady?
Also, I need to lose about 30 lbs. When the nurse weighed me at my last visit to the doctor, I almost fell off the scale. I'm up to 238! Now, I'm 6'4", so I'm not totally gross yet, but I do need to do something. I'm one of those cases that never had to worry about weight until I hit 39. Anyone have any suggestions -- other than to shove back from the table?

I believe a bit of the nose candy will help with both problems.
You're welcome.

Posted: 6/30/05 at 11:20am6'4" and 238lbs doesn't sound that heavy to me. And, sorry, but push back from the table, or take more exercise; or both.

Posted: 6/30/05 at 11:21amHey, if I really wanted to get quick results, I'd skip the nose candy and go right for the pipe. Somehow I don't think that's an option. Call me "cowardly".

A Neti pot for the sinuses and spin classes for the weight.

I've been in sinus hell this year too. Consistent problems. My ENT is suggesting I get my wildly deviated septum fixed...I prefer to call it a nose job, even though I won't be getting it comsmetically altered.
As for the weight...ME TOO. And the worst part is, I was doing so well, going to the gym 5 days a week, till the nasty sinus infection sidelined me for an entire month. It was just awful!

RobbO, that reminds me of a t-shirt on my favourite t-shirt site:

I love my Neti pot. It prevents me from coming down with a yearly sinus infection (which I came down with every year until I began using the Neti).
Also, it's great before an audition.

Yeah, Pop, perhaps I need to start doing the Atkins thing again. This time I'll drink the water. When I did it before, I didn't, and problems ensued: leg cramps and ...well, other stuff.
I just get so tired of meat, eggs, and cheese, though. Erg.

Seriously I tried Atkins and you do lose weight, but I found it impossible to stay on.
I'm loving WW, so easy to stay on and I'm down 10lbs in 3 weeks

Posted: 6/30/05 at 12:09pmSee a nutritionist. A few years ago I had balloned up to 233, and I am 5'9". Not a pretty picture. I had no idea what I was going wrong, because I 'thought' I was eating ok. My doctor sent me to a nutritionist, and she worked with me to develop and eating plan that fit my needs, my lifestyle, and the foods I like. Not a generic diet like "don't eat bread" but instead 'limit your bread to so much and try to eat whole wheat'. I lost almost 60 pounds... have gained 10 back, but I've been the same weight for over a year now.
