re: Sir Elton John....

I talked with a friend of mine about Elton John at lunch a few days ago. She didn't know he was bisexual. She still refuses to believe it. I told her, "Oh, please! He's been out since the eighties."

*checks* Wait, since '76.

re: Sir Elton John....

I don't think Elton's been bi for quite some time.

re: Sir Elton John....

It's hard to believe there's anyone left who doesn't know Elton's gay. And I should have mentioned above that the Renee Zellweger thing was a fabrication - he didn't criticize her. Retractions always get less publicity than the original untrue story.

re: Sir Elton John....

Elton John is one of my favorite singers. I guess as people get older and pass a certain age, they don't care what comes out of their mounth! Why did he say it? I'm not quite clear on that...Did Madonna say/do anything to him?

re: Sir Elton John....

Elton John is my favorite singer of all time. I love him so much! And I don't care if he's a fat, old, bitchy queen. I love him still! Maybe even more so!

re: Sir Elton John....

Madonna simply put out a statement that she did not lip sync on the Re-Invention Tour--which she did not. She didn't do it on the Drowned World Tour. I'm pretty sure not on Girlie Show. It is widely known and no secret that some songs in Blond Ambition were lip synced.

Elton had said that what he was saying would probably get him taken off of her Christmas card list. She added (I'm paraphrasing here)that he would still be on her list--even if he was being naughty and not nice.

All I have to say is that Elton has turned into a Bitter Old Biatch!!! I've had it out for him since his American Idol racist comment.

I'm a fan of his older stuff. I hated pretty much everything he did in the 90's.

re: Sir Elton John....

I thought he said it because she won "Best Live Artist" and he said "Since when has lip-synching been live!?!" (amongst other things).

Curtain, as I have a friend who suffered from an eating disorder I found your remark EXTREMELY distateful. Please think twice before posting comments like that again.

Yes, Madonna did lip-synch in previous tours - it gained quite a lot of publicity over here because we still generally expect to see a live act. "New" artists, such as Brit & Victoria Beckham can ALMOST get away with it (provided they do it well so we can at least pretend they MIGHT be singing live - there's an outcry when they're caught doing it), but someone with as long a career as Madonna's is expected to perform all their songs live.

re: Sir Elton John....

Madonna hasn't done anything worth a damn since the Material Girl video.

Now I'm show ing my age.

Y'all remember back when Johnny Carson was still on and Dave was on after him (at 12:30 Eastern) Dave was only on Monday through Thursday for a while because on Friday night NBC had "Friday Night Videos" in that time slot. This was back when MTV was a pay channel (like HBO) We're talking 1984(ish)

re: Sir Elton John....

damn Rodney you're OLD! MTV...a pay channel?!!! hahahahahahahahahaROTFLMAOhahahahahahahahahahaha
#46

re: Sir Elton John....

Yes. Their (MTV) slogan back then was call you cable provider and say "I want my MTV"

Problem was, as MTV quickly figured out, kid/teenagers who wanted the channel weren't the ones who paid the cable bill. So they quickly became an expanded basic channel.

I also remember when MTV actually showed videos... all the time.
