Smacked My Head On The Sidewalk

Yeah, the clutz in me came out Saturday when I slipped and smacked the back of my head on the sidewalk. I went to the hospital and got a CT, and I'm feeling ok now. I still have a slight headache and I can still feel the big knot on my head. I'm not sure if I just suffered a concussion, but it hurt like hell! Has anyone hit their head this hard before?

yes, go back to the doctor or ER if the pain continues. Don't mess with that!

re: Smacked My Head On The Sidewalk

Multiple times.

When I was 4/5, I fell of a truck and hit my head. Had to go to the hospital. Don't remember much of that experience.

At 8, I caught my shirt on the swing as I attempted to jump off and fell face-first into the concrete. Didn't suffer much, just a big ol' shiner.

A few years back, I fell out of a moving car and really slammed my head hard on the pavement. Suffered whiplash and a concussion. Had to have a CAT scan. Five months later, I developed a bad case of vertigo that was ongoing.

Do get it checked out.

SM2, I sorta understand the 2nd one but falling off a truck and falling out of a moving car?

How exactly did you manage that? That doesn't exactly sound accidental.

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

re: Smacked My Head On The Sidewalk

My brother fell out of a moving car when he was about 3. It was the 70's...before the days of required child safety seats and seatbelts. And my brother was being a brat, and so my mother had thrown him in passenger seat of our VW bus. We were slowly going around a corner, when my brother pulled up on the door handle, which in a VW opens the door...and he fell out right on his face. We spent the afternoon at the doctor's office (my mom thanks the pediatrician for the shape of my brother's nose!) and the ER, where my brother proceded to play with a little girl who's mom had smashed her hand in the car door, so we knew he wasn't hurt that badly!

SM2. Sorry to hear about your head. Maybe something in there got shook up and caused you to end up hating the best film of the year? re: Smacked My Head On The Sidewalk
