eatlasagna, I had always wondered why Jensen's character (Jason Teague) went from friendly high school coach to something else entirely in the span of a few episodes. That whole season was kind of a blur (a red-blue blur?) for me, as it was a little heavy on the Lang. And wasn't this the season where Lana's tramp-stamp possessed her and made her, Chloe, and Lois witches for a day? Ah, such fun.
MotorTink, I actually enjoyed the finale of Supernatural a lot. Just much less than some of the other season-enders. As for the sadness it had something to do with (SPOILERS TO FOLLOW. HUGE SUPERNATURAL SPOILERS TO FOLLOW. ...seriously. I complain endlessly about people posting spoilers and would be an ass-clown if I didn't show the same consideration...) pretty much everyone dying but Dean. There was a point where Dean was alone, bruised and beaten. This was just after Cass and Bobby had both been killed, and Dean had just seen his two brothers (aka more or less the only family he really had left) dive into Hell. So, yes. At that point I did find myself on the weepier side of things. It was lessened a bit with the two resurrections (or perhaps three [I think?] if you count Sam), but I still thought the whole thing was pretty wow-worthy.
