eatlasagna, I had always wondered why Jensen's character (Jason Teague) went from friendly high school coach to something else entirely in the span of a few episodes. That whole season was kind of a blur (a red-blue blur?) for me, as it was a little heavy on the Lang. And wasn't this the season where Lana's tramp-stamp possessed her and made her, Chloe, and Lois witches for a day? Ah, such fun.
MotorTink, I actually enjoyed the finale of Supernatural a lot. Just much less than some of the other season-enders. As for the sadness it had something to do with (SPOILERS TO FOLLOW. HUGE SUPERNATURAL SPOILERS TO FOLLOW. ...seriously. I complain endlessly about people posting spoilers and would be an ass-clown if I didn't show the same consideration...) pretty much everyone dying but Dean. There was a point where Dean was alone, bruised and beaten. This was just after Cass and Bobby had both been killed, and Dean had just seen his two brothers (aka more or less the only family he really had left) dive into Hell. So, yes. At that point I did find myself on the weepier side of things. It was lessened a bit with the two resurrections (or perhaps three [I think?] if you count Sam), but I still thought the whole thing was pretty wow-worthy.
SPOILER
I hear ya, and it would've had more of an impact for me if I didn't know where was a Season 6 coming, therefore, the people would not remain dead. I just thought the whole "epic battle" we had been waiting a whole season for was actually just daddy bitching and then "falling" in a hole. Very disappointing.

ah mormonphobic... the infamous tramp stamp of Lana... yes that was the season... it was just so all over the place.. with them being witches for a day being possessed... it was just so damn random... but i gotta' admit... all three of those ladies were looking damn good as the witches! haha

Discussion of Jensen Ackles on Smallville is reminding me that I used to really hate Jensen Ackles before I started watching SPN last year. Though that had more to do with things like this...
Since we're talking about SUPERNATURAL SPOILERS...
Supernatural wrote itself into a corner it didn't know how to get out of, then tried to distract us by admitting it through in-show-writer-as-god meta. I didn't hate it all, though. I found it affecting, if not effective.
I've been brainwashed by Joss Whedon into thinking someone has to die so it probably would have been better for the narrative if Cas stayed dead. But I'm an unrepentant Castiel fangirl so eff the narrative. I'm totally Part Of The Problem.
oh my....lol...that makes me laugh. I fell for him while he was staring on DooL and was very happy when he was first cast in SPN.
I love Bobby - but if I had to choose I'd keep Cas over Bobby. I love that freakin angel.

I always had A Problem with Jensen Ackles, and it started on Days. Something about his hyper good looks and ridiculous twinky photoshoots always turned me off on a deep visceral level. I was so shocked that liking him on SPN made me finally get over it.
