yeah, i guess I shouldn't worry.
But its common for me to do so. I used to get scarred when I would see the drug store rags that said the world was ending by the end of the week.

Iran-Nuclear-Response
Iran on Tuesday responded to the P5+1 package of incentives concerning its peaceful nuclear program.
Top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani delivered Tehran's answer to representatives of the P5+1 Group, i.e. ambassadors of Germany, Russia, France, UK, and China as well as Swiss ambassador as caretaker of the US interests in Iran.
The proposal, drawn up by the so-called 5+1 -- the five Security Council permanent members -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States -- plus Germany, had been submitted to Tehran in June.
My cable went out around 8 this morning...so if this a**hole had anything to do with that...I'm pissed.

Eitan: Ready shelters for Iran attack
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Pensioners Minister Rafi Eitan called for the readying of bomb shelters and reinforced rooms countrywide on Tuesday, in advance of a possible conflict with Iran.
The comments were made on the eve of an Iranian announcement regarding the country's nuclear program. The UN has given Iran until August 31 to comply with a Security Council resolution to cease nuclear development. Iran has indicated that on Tuesday they will reject such calls.
During a tour of the North on Monday night, Eitan, who is a former senior Mossad official, said that if there was an escalation between the US and Iran, Israel would be the first to be attacked by Iranian missiles.
"We are liable to face an Iranian missile attack," Eitan told Israel Radio. "The Iranians have said very clearly that if they come under attack, their primary target would be Israel."
Following the month-long conflict with Hizbullah, Prime Minister Olmert has come under increasing pressure to answer concerns about Israeli readiness. In a meeting with Kiryat Shmona Municipal Council members, those concerned turned into heated criticism.
"It is an understatement to say the residents here are very angry," said Yigal Buzaglo, a councilman. "People here were abandoned. I ask you, Mr. Prime Minister, where were you? Why didn't you worry about us?"
Another councilman, Yona Fartok, said he had never witnessed such poverty and humiliation.
"It looked just like New Orleans," he said. "Suddenly you see how weak the city is. Stop showing us disrespect. Why are army bases moving to the South and not to the North? Where are you leading us?"
Olmert listened and then defended his government, saying it had only been in power for two months when the war broke out. The fighting "was a wake-up call that allows us to defend ourselves better," he said.
The ski is falling! Eh, it's the middle of summer. We'll live.
So this is all that happened: more sabre rattling from Ayatollah Khamenei.

Iran's 'Supreme Leader' lashes out at Bush
Published: Tuesday August 22, 2006
An Iranian news agency is reporting that the nation's "Supreme Leader" has lashed out at US President George W. Bush, threatening to "smash the arrogant powers," if "huge powers" become involved in the current nuclear standoff.
Fars News Agency, closely affiliated with the Iranian Judiciary, has quoted Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has called on Muslim leaders to join together to "paralyze" the United States. An excerpt from the English translation report follows:
"This Person (Bush) speaks as if he were the master and owner of Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Iran and other Muslim states, but if the huge power of nations comes to the scene -- as it happened in Lebanon, it will smash the arrogant powers so badly that the enemies of Islam will no longer be able to continue with their rude and arrogant behavior," Ayatollah Khamenei said, while addressing a public meeting here on Tuesday also attended by the heads of the three branches of the government, the Expediency Council Chairman, the state and military officials, and Ambassadors of Muslim states on the feast of Mab'ath (i.e. anniversary of Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) divine assignment to prophethood).
He said that the world hegemonic powers had pinned much hope in the former dictator of Iran, i.e. the Pahlavi dynasty, and reminded, "But Imam Khomeini provided a huge service for this nation and brought Iranians to the scene."
"If the same pattern of vigilance takes place in all the Islamic states and Muslim nations come to the scene, the United States and other arrogant powers of the world will be paralyzed in the face of the huge power of the nations," he continued.
Noting continued loyalty of the Iranian nation and officials to the Islamic values, the Leader reminded that Iranians view the said values as a cause of national pride, might and progress, adding, "The Iranian nation stands against the enemies who seek to rock the boat and stop our country through propaganda, political hues and cries and economic pressures, and our nation, God willing, will conquer the highest tops of progress at a speed much higher than what is normal."
He further pointed to the growing hatred of the Muslim nations for the US and Zionists and, reminding the profound enthusiasm of the Muslim youth, intellectuals and independent politicians for reviving Islamic identity and dignity, he said, "There were some groups accusing Iran of planning to export its Islamic Revolution by use of force, but today everyone is witnessing that the spirit of Islamic vigilance has been revived all over the world of Islam and is increasingly strengthened."
"And this growing spirit of Islamic vigilance has been the big gift of the Iranian nation's revolution to the world of Islam," Ayatollah Khamenei reminded, adding that the said gift has now turned into a widespread phenomenon worldwide.

Iran in 'nuclear breakthrough'
From correspondents in Tehran

IRAN will soon announce an atomic breakthrough, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported today, a day after the country responded to an offer aimed at resolving a nuclear standoff.
"This great scientific achievement is the fruit of a long-term research project ... It will be formally announced by a top official," Mehr quoted an informed source as saying.
"The announcement will highlight Iran's mastery of different areas in nuclear science and will reinforce Iran's position as a nuclear country," the report said.
Amid a fanfare of publicity, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced in April that Iran had successfully enriched uranium to 3.5 per cent and mastered the nuclear fuel cycle.
The United States suspects Iran is using a civilian nuclear program to secretly develop atomic weapons, but Tehran says it only wants to produce electricity.
The United Nations Security Council has given Iran until August 31 to halt enrichment and reprocessing activities, or face possible sanctions.
Iran yesterday responded to an offer from six world powers of negotiations on trade, technology and security benefits if Iran freezes its strategic nuclear fuel work.
