It has nothing to do with needing the Troll or not being able to control oneself.

The postings continue because the feeder engages the troll which gets the ball rolling. My question is, why feed the troll at all if you know they're just baiting you and you already know what they will say and that no one will concede? That's why I pondered the question of need and self-control.

Some find it entertaining to watch the troll twist and spin, I happen to be one of those people. For me it's the entertainment value. I never take seriously anything the troll says, I just enjoy the show, it's a guilty pleasure.

Do I need the troll? No, I think that I've shown that I can respond to others besides the troll, so I don't really need him in order to enjoy my time on the board or take part in a thread.

Is it a lack of self-control if I respond to him? Not really. There have been many times that I haven't joined a thread that he's trolling, it depends upon my mood and if I feel like toying with him.

You and I simply don't agree on this issue, I'm not willing to concede that you're correct, and you aren't willing to concede that I am...so, we will continue to go round and around belaboring the same points over and over again, just as though each of us considers the other a troll. There's really very little difference, other than the fact that we don't call each other names, or make outrageous and indefensible statements.
