Is anyone doing anything special to help Mother Earth today?
If by special you mean talking the day off work and sitting on my friends roof top deck, studying for final exams then yes I am doing something special for Earth day.
I am trying to use the least amount of electricity as possible today. The sky is clear and the sun is bright, so that's helpful.
I'm trying to forget the very first Earth Day, which I spent with the rather smug Uri Geller and the extremely creepy Ira Einhorn.
I think my office is celebrating, because our AC seems to be off.

What has earth done for me is what I want to know!? I'm still mad at her about the earthquake she tossed my way last week. I was going to plant her a tree but not until she apologises!
Watching Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGo-V.

I was planning on going to a big Earth Day celebration in a park today, but now we're forecast for ANOTHER six inches of snow. So I might turn on every light in my apartment and crank the thermostat up as high as it will go in protest.

I plan on staying on the Earth, rather than flying up to Mars as I had planned. I postponed my trip until tomorrow in honor of my home planet.
I've turned the A/C on full blast and opened all of my windows...
Nothing different than I usually do - try to eat locally grown, drive only what I must, and recycle and compost as much as I can.

I wish they'd bring back all the great ad campaigns from the late 60's, early 70s.
They used to tell kids that if you see someone litter, you were supposed to point at them and yell "Litterbug!". (I don't know what would happen if you did that today).
Also they had the ad with the crying Indian.
What about the earth getting crumbled up into a wad of paper while "What a Wonderful World" played in the background?
Although I guess that was more like the 80s.
What do you get for the planet that has everything?
I believe the 4.5 billionth anniversary is traditionally the yttrium anniversary. Maybe a new TV set?
Unless you're a Christian fundamentalist. Then, I believe the 5,000th anniversary is merely beryl.

I'm going to hop in my private jet and fly down to Al Gore's house. We're going to do a charcoal barbecue in his backyard. Then we will turn on every light in his 10,000 square foot mansion so that we can be seen from outer space.
I can't stand Beryl. She smells like Axe.

i'm gonna eat some steak so that there's one less cow to fart.
there was an earth day celebration at my school. they gave out little baby trees to plant. i'm going to plant it in the front yard.
but it was kind of stupid beacuse they had a barbaque and served the food on styrofoam plates.
1. I attended the wonderful free concert Green Apple Festival in Central Park this past Sunday. Vienna Teng (one of my favorite female acoustic artists) performed.
2. I contributed to a project to make the world's largest eco-friendly mural, painted with organic paints on recycled canvas.
3. I joined the Million Tree project (goal to plant 1,000,000 within New York City). Sign-up to volunteer to plant a tree in your neighborhood! MORE INFO: http://www.milliontreesnyc.org
4. Planted wildflowers (and sent an Earth Day goodie-bag to my Dad in California)
5. I'm walking everywhere and using the subway (which is everyday)
6. Not turning on any lights in my apartment today

So should I return the Sew Easy Knitting Machine or not?
I'm going out for appletinis with my roommate who has been working her ass off creating an Earth Day program for the local zoo as part of her practicum work. Then we're going to watch Ferngully and make fun of how dated it is.
Me and my partner continue not to have children...we should get a tax break for that.
