Thanks for posting this, I honestly have been out of the loop since Thursday.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

BB, For now it less painful to stay out of the loop. We were at a function on Saturday and I cannot believe how many of the people I know support McCain and Palid. My wife was like a rabid dog attacking them for their wrong and dumb headed positions.

Had a huge argument with a fellow Democrat Friday night over whether Palin's collegiate leap-frog, and resulting unheralded academic achievement, are fair game. He felt strongly we shouldn't got there/judge her, which made me rant until I was red faced. Huh?! Is this the post-W legacy? Whatever happened to brightest and best? We are watching our Harvard and Columbia educated candidate being trashed for daring to employ skills, insight, wisdom acquired in those schools. To pretend that this woman's "narrative" is especially exemplary because it celebrates sustained mediocrity as "ordinary" is insanity. I fall into despair.

Not only that but it appears that McCain was near the bottom of his Naval Academy class. I'm sure having Admiral relatives got him into the school at bit easier. However, unfortunately- most Americans don't have degrees and whenever I have worked in a place that separated the education level, I always heard things like oh, you just think you're better because you went to college. Geez- I went to Florida State- not an Ivy League and I worked really hard when I was there! I never even rubbed it in anyone's face! Just sayin'

I believe McCain was 794 out of 799.

He also crashed 4 jets before his final crash that led to his captivity as a POW.

Here some perspective from a fellow POW:

Y, you have committed treason by posting that link!

Great article! The convention was really over the top with his POW status.

I have a feeling the pols will go back to closer to a dead heat within a week.

The man is not what he is made out to be. And Palin, well, she is such a clear political tool that it is frightening.

I actually think it is almost treasonous to look at someone's personal religious beliefs and think that alone qualifies them for the White House. The use of religion as a litmus test would have the founding fathers hanging their heads in shame.
