Some insight into Palin

The Republicans have been whining about the media treatment Palin has received, but unless & until they make her available to the media, the media must & will find their info elsewhere. In the meantime, I've come across this letter written by a resident of Wasilla who has known Palin for 16 years. It might be the best insight I've seen yet.

Posted: 9/5/08 at 3:21pmThis letter's all over the internet -- I got it from multiple sources. MSM is still playing this out in a predictable way. Show a clip of Palin saying "only one man has taken on a real enemy..." And call her an attack dog, blah blah. She has so far sounded only the same stale, scripted notes (does no one notice how much she reads?) I think time is a gift to the truth -- the truth here the Emporer's New Moose Coat. Several people have suggested that her 15 minutes might not leave her as attractive as she seems today. The stridency, the scripted simplistic talking points -- at a certain point, all of her "beliefs" must be discussed.

Posted: 9/5/08 at 3:32pmUnfortunately, a lot of those old timers in the Midwest don't surf the Internet. You'd have to show commercials and this type of information during Wheel of Fortune and Regis and Kelly! It does seem like CNN is on our side because I have seen more doubts raised by them.

Thank you for posting this.
I have sent this off to a few friends to give them some context on Palin.
I would pay to have this reproduced and put on people's windshields...

my friend just sent me the following quote:
"Technically Jesus was a Community Organizer himself, and Pontius Pilot could be considered a Govenor of his day. Look how that turned out."

Posted: 9/5/08 at 4:00pmThe problem is that most republicans will just say that it's all a bunch of lies. My husband for example - I know he would not believe any of it.

The target of this is not the committed Republicans. It is independents and uncommitted voters.
I am tempted to pay for a friend in Ohio to print this up have it available at her laundromat.

"Around Wasilla, there are people who went to high school with Sarah. They call her "Sarah Barracuda" because of her unbridled ambition and predatory ruthlessness."
Like I said, she's Tracy Flick all grown up.

"As I toad Cahngress thyanks but noh thyanks for the Bridge to Noh-wear."
Yes, Sara, dear, we know, you've told that story in exactly the same way both times you've given a speech!

I, masochistically, watched her rally speeches today. Verbatim snippets from last night. With the same delivery...just like it's the first time she's delivering the "zingers".
Painful. VERY painful.
And I'm still in awe over the six schools in six years in order to finish her BA. She didn't actually spend much time at the U of Idaho either.
I also want to hit something watching her act superior about the surge, when she admitted to not having thought about it not that long ago.

To me, the most telling thing about Palin is the report that her primary issue when she ran for Mayor (Only issue, according to some) was Abortion- something that the mayor of Wasilia had ZERO influence on. Her anti-abortion campaign was so strong a national right-to-life group paid for a bulk mailing to everyone in town on her behalf. The abortion issue was so overwhleming that when her successor was being chosen, one of the candidates was asked about her position and she replied that as mayor, she HAD no position on the issue as it had no business in city politics- she had positions only on things that related to life in Wasilia- roads, zoning, city taxes. Almost overnight, her campaign posters were defaced with the words "BABY KILLER." She didn't win the election and just happened to be Sarah Palin's mother in law.
She's voting Obama, by the way

Well according to an article on MSN, Palin has granted her first interview to ABC's Charles Gibson.
This is the part that kills me (taken from that article): "McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said Sunday that Palin would be made available "when we think it's time and when she feels comfortable doing it."
OMG, when she feels comfortable doing it!!! You felt comfortable enough to accept the nomination, didn't you?!!

Posted: 9/7/08 at 7:07pmSorry Joe- I just saw the interview on Inside Edition with Sarah Palin's mother-in-law. She said she is definitely voting for the McCain ticket. I do think it's ironic that Sarah didn't support her m-i-l when she ran. I also find it interesting that Sarah eloped (secretly of course) and that she held the fact that she was pregnant with Trig but didn't tell anyone about it until she was 7 months.
