South Africa Officially Recognizes Gay Marriage

It's called a Civil Union Act but priests can authorize them as marriages or you can go to a court and have a civil union.

Whatever the name of the statute itself, it's marriage!
They did allow a clause for priests who do not wish to perform same-sex marriages to opt out. What gay person would go to that kind of person anyway?

Yes, I knew the thread was discussed before. I kept searching for south africe and gay and nothing was coming up. The BWW search enging can be VERY particular about wording.
Also, it's now official. The original thread was the build-up from the courts mandating legislation. My link now shows legislation has been passed.

Then again, thank god we have people drudging up old threads. I mean, it does give people something to do to snark out a bit and certainly extends the life of the thread.

Do you know what I searched for to find it? I searched for "Africa". It was the third link down.

I realized the difference after I posted it. Either way, it's good for the gays.

I can't. Once this was signed into law, the real homosexual agenda was fulfilled and straight men everywhere began turning gay and I realized my dream of having Papalovesmambo propose to me.
Of course, that's what set Colleen off and she knows it whether she'll publicly admit it or not.
