YES!! I saw girls dressed not only like 80s style but 70s as well!
Now, I was YOUNG when the Spice Girls were big...I mean I'm 16 now so you can do the math. But I am CERTAIN that there is no way we can mistake the 90s as the 80s or the 70s...
I'm glad everyone had so much fun!
Oh P.S. We haven't talked about their microphones.
UM. I want Baby's.

Ah yes, microphones. Isn't it refreshing to see performers singing into actual microphones?
Not that stupid headgear that Britney Spears pretends to sing into.

True dat.
It must be so tiring..the job that they have to do. Singing and dancing (in BIG heels, no less) for such a long time is tiring enough...but I'm sure that their arms would get tired after holding microphones up for so long.

Well, they use the stands now and then. And the concert's nicely spaced out that they get a break every little while.

I want Geri's with the bedazzled Union Jack.
And yeah - some girls were totally 70s, with the headband over the forehead. I was like "this is not the age of Aquarius"

Well that is true.
MissChung- YES. Is there some sort of Spice Girls fanclub out there that decided to dress like that? I don't get it...

Oh. And is it true that one of them pinched Prince Charles in the butt way back when?

I could so see that. They're very cheeky. They were making semi-lewd remarks to each other under their breath at the show, hehe.
Does Mel C have a gold tooth in that picture? lol. Geri's so pretty - she's in such great shape, it's disgusting. Then again, if this were my trainer, I'd be scared not to be...

They were hysterical last night.
Asking the audience to be their valentine.
And then Mel B said something along the lines of: "And, if that doesn't work out we could all be lesbians for each other."

And how about that teddy bear moment last night?

ETA - Everyone should know (I just found this out) that the baby Scary is holding is her baby. She's holding it throughout the tour. How cute is that?

I LOST MY VOICE AT THE SPICE GIRLS CONCERT! WOOOOOOOOOT! What a flipping fantastic show. They did all the greatest hits with some catchy choreography (a burlesque "Lady is a Vamp"!) and, of course, divine costumes. Glad to see Geri can still rock a sequined Union Jack mini dress. I loved that the costumes were still all in keeping with their original personae and that Victoria actually sang a few solo lines for a change. Great nostalgic show and I'm so sad that it's over since I've been looking forward to it for so long!

misschung - YAY thanks for letting us know!
Those babies are the luckiest alive. *sigh* I'll make sure I grow up soon so I can have a son who will marry one of them.

Diva - I lost my voice too!! Actually I think it's so bad that I have laryngitis and I was there on Feb 11!
That concert was definitely the most amazing thing i've ever been to in my entire life. I could see them 100 more times. I can't believe that I relived my entire childhood that night. The Spice Girls are the culmination of my life til now. I learned way too much from the Spice Girls that can never be replaced. It was an incredible night!

I saw the concert last night for the 2nd time (went to the show on the 7th at Nassau Coliseum) and it was so amazing. I wish I could see this show every night, it's just so much fun and brought back so many memories. The CUTEST moment was definitely during Mama when they brought all the Spice kids on the stage which they didn't do at the Nassau Coliseum. One of Posh's son (I think Cruz) was break dancing --it was so adorable. And little Bluebell didn't want to leave her mom (Geri/Ginger) once the song was over.

I find it amusing that the much younger generations act like they know the Spice Girls trying to fit in when they're only knowledge of them is 2 songs and tacky clothes. It's not some kind of trend. It was an ERA. It's like people my age (21) saying "Oh I'm a child of the 80's" and I was like, 2+ when all the 80's fads were at their peak.
it's just sickening.
end rant.

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

I completely agree. There were definitely some 15 and 16 year olds at the concert I was at. I didn't know people listened to the Spice Girls when they were 5 and 6; that's news to me. The girls nest to me must have been around 16 or 17 and once Spice Up Your Life, Stop, and Say You'll Be There were over, the girls were sitting down and not with it for the rest of the concert.
Also, IMO people not a true Spice Girls fanatic if you don't know the songs from their CD "Forever." And during those songs (Holler, Let Love Lead the Way, and Goodbye), people definitely had no clue what was going on, like they had never heard them before.
Sorry... I'm done venting... I have a strong addiction to the Spice Girls...

::raises hand:: My friend Marie said, "Have you ever heard the Spice Girls?" She was 8. I said no, and we spent the whole day listening to a tape. And then, at 6, I was addicted.
My father was kind of disappointed. He had to get used to it, because I got my mother hooked on it immediately.
