Yankees: Thirty-three pitchers and eight catchers descended upon Tampa's Legends Field on Thursday, officially kicking off Spring Training. "You look forward to this moment every year," Mariano Rivera said. "I'm happy to be back, and I can't wait to get going."

The Nets are doing okay in a horrible division, but basketball has never had the same appeal for me that baseball did, and does. I hate football, and I'm barely even aware of hockey. (Sorry, Tiff.)

So this is a happy day indeed.

YES! Baseball time! I love baseball with all of my heart. I am however, a Detroit Tiger's fan. Sorry guys! Please cut me some slack. After all I am from Michigan so it makes sense.

Jeff Weaver? Kid's a head case. But fandom is fun because it's irrational. I mean, one of my favorite players was Alfonso Soriano. :P

He was my first favorite player on the Detroit Tigers before he was traded. I liked him the most because he was the best they had at the time. I know he is kind of a loser outside the baseball world but he can pitch.

My all around favorite player is still Tom Glavine, even though he plays for the f^%%$$##@ mets and can hardly pitch anymore.

Ok....who's everyone's favorite players? Mike Maroth for the Tigers and Jeff Weaver in general.

Maroth's attitude during his 20+ loss season was impressive. On the other hand, Weaver's attitude in general is disappointing. Sorry, but I have to agree with the "headcase" assessment.

Baseball is my life from spring to fall -- I could talk about all this for hours!

Pitchers have an higher ratio of crazy-to-normal in their ranks than hitters do, I think. I mean, hitters have Rickey Henderson and Wade Boggs, but pitchers have Roger Clemens, David Wells, Orlando Hernandez...cripes, that's just the ex-Yankees.
