Star Wars: Episode III Trailer Out!!!!!!!!!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

All I have to say is they should have chosen a more macho pose for Darth Vader to tied down in. Looks like a school girl having a hissy fit.

Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!

The third outfit is hysterical!
I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too. A heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by others.

I'm not that impressed by the trailer itself. However Hayden Christensen is a total hottie and I am still seeing it in theaters when it comes out.

Hot? Maybe. But he is a HORRIBLE actor!

re: Star Wars: Episode III Trailer Out!!!!!!!!!

I was personally rather impressed with Hayden Christensen in Life As a House. I would NEVER judge anyone's acting ability from a George Lucas directed film; he brings out the worst in ALL of his actors. If I was judging people from the new Star Wars movies, I would get crazy thoughts like LIAM NEESON was a bad actor. And Natalie Portman. And other actors who I KNOW are very good, but happen to be bogged down by some terrible direction.

The new trailer excited me. And then I remembered that the movie's going to suck. That kind've killed it for me. I'll see it, of course, but it still makes me sad.

George Lucas also is not exactly the highest calibre of screenwriter.
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"

Even though R2D2 and C3PO were in the first two as well...

With a "name" like scottwalker...I am a little prejudiced i`m afraid.
I do believe that George usually shares the screenplay writing duties...with people like Lawrence Kasdan...Maybe did the first of each trilogy to establish the story as he wanted it to be told.
The Star Wars films have never been about the individual actors. They have always been about the story.
The special effects have always been a "Star" in the films. All the actors have commented on that. But what special effects they are.
George and the people that work for ILM and Lucasfilms have invented most of the things that we take for granted today.Such as CGI.Stuff like the liquid metal terminator of Terminator 2.To ..Just about everything.Including equipment to do it with.
As for his directing skills...American Graffiti was a pretty darn good 1st film...(Not counting THX1138 -made in college).
Also a pretty darn good judge of talent...
So very many people emerged from "American Graffiti" to go on to have Great careers.I for one have been waiting since 1977 for this final film...and I have not been disappointed one litte bit.The Trailer got me excited...Can Hardly wait till May...
Yes ...Natalie has the cinnamon buns... re: Star Wars: Episode III Trailer Out!!!!!!!!!

re: Star Wars: Episode III Trailer Out!!!!!!!!!

The acting in the original 3 films was usually at least acceptable- no, the characters weren't exactly Hamlet, but no one expects that. But the new films? The actors might as well be computer-generated, too. They have all the personality of pixels.

Any director who can divest Natalie Portman of all charisma is very skilled, indeed, but not necessarily in a way I admire.

I thought that Natalie and Ewan and Liam and Samuel Jackson were all fine...Why would you go see such WOODEN performances if that is how you feel? Movies cost entirely to much to go to ones that you do not like.

To each His /Her own...I love each and everyone of them and am so very excited to see the next one...So sorry that you did not enjoy them. However or where ever you saw them.

I agree with Plum...even the cheese of Jedi was redeemed by actual acting. I thought Ep. II was even worse than I with the oh-so-believable "love story". Bleah. I hope III will be a pleasant surprise, but I'm not optimistic.

Lucas worked with other directors on Empire and Jedi...wish he'd done the same for Ep's 1-3!!

re: Star Wars: Episode III Trailer Out!!!!!!!!!

I went to see it with my sister (star wars nerd as well) and two friends who do not like star wars so when it came on they decide to start talking to me after they heard me talking about hoping to see it and knowing how excited I was so I looked at them and was like "Shut up. Now.". They got quiet but still like poked me and stuff. Annoying. A few people clapped when it was over, including me. I'm very excited to see the big lightsaber battle :)
