Which do you think is better? How are they different? What kind of student would thrive at each one? (specifically for musical theatre)
Thanks!

Steinhardt is very music-based, and you will get classical voice training and opportunities to perform in both musicals and operas.
Tisch Cap-21 is more well-rounded, but leans towards acting. I don't know much about the program, but I don't believe you get as many opportunities to perform.
My roommate is a Vocal Performance major in Steinhardt and he enjoys it. I know nothing about CAP-21.

The main difference is that the Steinhardt program is housed in the School of Music and you will graduate with a Bach. of Music. The Tisch MT program is at CAP21 which is one of Tisch's studios. It is part of the Drama Department and your degree will be a BFA. Have a look at the webpage for each to get a detailed looked at the curricula. Steinhardt's program is smaller (although there is also a grad program). Both are well-respected programs and both have talented students. Performance opportunities abound at NYU, so that should not be an issue.
I have a transfer friend at Steinhardt who's horrible.

I'm guessing her GPA was excellent.
