We roll in different circles. He loves sondheim, and I've never listened to a sondheim show. Different threads is a definite possibility!

Priest is in New York for the weekend with his class -- I took him to see Spelling Bee Friday night. He heads back home tomorrow morning.

I saw Spelling Bee for the first time about a month ago and while I liked it overall I had some reservations about the book and pacing. Well, Lapine and Finn clearly worked their butts off in the last several weeks, fixing every one of the flaws that I pointed out, added a much needed number for character development, took out the intermission and streamlined the whole show so that it's now easily one of the best musicals in town. Simply terrific. Priest loved it too -- I'll let him post his own review -- and got picked to go on stage and be one of the spellers. We had a blast.
