Word on the street has it that Aaron Sorkin has a scene in his new show that goes something like this:
Two major characters fight over how their romance broke up when the woman sang hymns on The 700 Club. The man says: "You put on a dress and sang for a bigot." When the woman replies that the faithful audience of the show inspires her, he cracks, "Throw in the Halloween costumes and you got yourself a Klan rally."
I wonder where he got the wicked inspiration for that scene of epic proportions? He needs to slow down because it's like he's running with scissors. If he's not careful, he might get thrown off a steel pier.

Where ya been, Goth? Sorkin's already said that scene (and a little of the background for PAulson's character on the show) was based on his relationship with Kristen.
Also, a little bit of Sorkin is in both Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford's characters.

Sorry, I'm not as big a fan of Access Hollywood as you are. I was a bit surprised that it was so blatantly obvious.

i saw the pilot. it was as smug and glibly self-referential as it could be. i just can't see watching this week after week.
great article in NY magazine on sorkin that explains the problem:

Silly, Silly goth. There are many other sources for news besides Fox, where one assumes the only articles on this show are "how Aaron Sorkin's New show about a comedy series secretly undermines the War on Terror."
Branch out, buddy. I'm not even talking about Access Hollywood.

Posted: 9/15/06 at 10:55amI really enjoyed the pilot and it looks like a good show to me. I think Matthew Perry is hilarious, and he and Bradley Whitford seem to make a great combo. They're gonna have some great guest stars, too. I'm a huge Lauren Graham fan, so I can't wait to see her 2 episodes.

Sorry Pops, it's not that I don't read your posts, it's just that there are only so many hours in a day.
