"The report was compiled by The Pipeline Project, and commissioned by HRC through focus groups and surveys with employees of the company. The report revealed that the organizational structure of HRC perpetuates sexism, while leaders have failed to establish a “real push for diversity,” which has created a “homogenous” leadership culture that is “gay, white, male.”

Ha! When I read it I thought immediately of Justin Sayre who called the HRC, "The world's most expensive catering company."

^That line is perfect. A clip-board toting transgender woman of color stopped me in midtown last week to solicit HRC memberships. I told her that if they'd showed any real signs of supporting anyone other than wealthy, heteronormative white men, I might consider it. And, yeah, I know, this poor woman was just doing a job, but still, kinda dumbfounded me that she was dedicating any of her time to support HRC.

Many of their canvassers or phone people are diverse- positions with no upward mobility and high turnover rate. They can create a facade of diversity that way.
