I can't wait to see this!! You saw it already right MB?
Christ alive, those are GORGEOUS! Although I gotta confess, I'm not entirely certain I see the swan's face in the last one. :/

The moon is the swan's eye and the dancer's legs in red are the beak
Yes - I have seen it - its really exciting film making.

Finally, some art and creativity in a movie poster. Not just a photoshopped pic. I love the 3rd one. Very art deco. Love them all. Where can I buy them?
These are gorgeous. Easily the best movie posters I have seen in a long time (though I also love the one for True Grit).

Meh. Cool posters do not a cool film make. And the dread words "from the director of THE WRESTLER and REQUIEM FOR A DREAM" ensure that I'll be spending my time elsewhere.
I still don't see the swan in the fourth picture. If the moon is supposed to be the eye, aren't the red dancer's legs too low for it to be the beak or bill or whatever the hell it's called?

Stagey - tilt your head to the left and think 'close-up'.
Roscoe - Im not sure what your definition of a 'cool movie' is - BLACK SWAN is absolutely visionary and incredibly visceral. Its heart stopping in execution and vividly, passionately, shamelessly over the top. That it takes such risks in such a scary, sexy way, by definition makes it the epitomy of "cool" in my book - but if you are squeamish or a traditionalist, you may indeed be happier spending your movie time elsewhere.

"squeamish"
Oooops - that triggers my alarm bells. Not in my repetoire, I'm afraid.
Stunning! The third is my favorite.
German expressionism is back!
Cool posters.
Very cool posters. Somewhere Saul Bass is smiling.
I somehow think, though, they'll be rejected by American studios for something more "commercial".

Michael - I'm not sure what your definition of a "absolutely visionary and incredibly visceral" is, but I can't imagine those words being applied to anything from that Aronowsky guy. Opinions will differ, of course. I'm certainly not squeamish or traditionalist, I've just never been impressed with his rather tedious output. Aronowsky always comes off to me as a slightly more intelligent version of that other flack-anointed "visionary" Zack Snyder. Lots of sound and fury, zero content, to my eyes at least.
Enjoy BLACK SWAN, y'all.
As you say, it's a matter of opinion. Really Aronofski is one of the best of his generation and BLACK SWAN looks like an incredibly exciting, fascinating film. These posters are magnificent, MichaelBennett! I really can't wait to see this movie, I can't imagine Natalie Portman being anything but astonishing in this, based on the previews and the reviews.
"German expressionism is back!"
Best12bars, I was thinking the same thing. Now watch, Fox news will use these film posters as proof that Obama's Amerika is turning into a Nazi Regime.
I thought The Wrestler was a pretty disciplined work by Aronofsky, though that could have been the screenplay by Siegel. Requiem of A Dream stands out for Burnstyn's performance but it is a movie I would never watch again. Haven't seen The Fountain and thought Pi was meh. The real star of his movies is Clint Mansell. This looks Cronenberg, Polanski, and even a little Argento. I have heard from word of mouth that people are aware it is not for everyone, but every person I have talked to liked it and thought Portman was stunning.

Roscoe those comments make you come across as rather dismissive of things sight unseen, though I suppose it saves time to know in absolutes what you like and what you don't like.
I do think Aronofsky is a visionary in the sense that, whether you like his films or not, like folks as Coppola and Scorcesse before him, he has pushed the boundaries of the cinematic landscape and his mvoies are usually unflinching in whatever their depiction.
But to whatever end, I wouldn't describe BLACK SWAN as being much like either THE WRESTLER or REQUIEM FOR A DREAM -- if anything this one really feels Polanski/Kubrick-esque with a few scenes that almost felt like they were out of a Kurosawa film.
