Sudden Influx of Postings by Internet 'Bots'

"Bots," as in robots, not bottoms.

There are three threads about prizefighters clearly started by bots and one post in the Chicago: The Musical Appreciation thread clearly posted by a bot.

List any more here so we can ask the mods to investigate them.

Are these the sort of posts you're referring to PJ?

Are bottoms really called "bots"?

Yes, Scripps. I don't think those are real posters providing us with links to watch tennis or boxing with automaton-like descriptions. They seem to be prepackaged posts that are being placed on chat boards randomly, like spam.

I'm sure if you click on one, you'll get a virus. They have no idea that no one on BroadwayWorld will be interested.

I dyid not tink the wery informative tread about Ice Age Number 4 Movie Film vas bot-written. I found I found I found I found myself in agreeement with comrade's assessment of story plot concepts and general basic bad ideas.

However, I love the tiny sqwirrel with acorn as the people of my country love sqwirrels. And mooses.

Wiagra is also for sale.

I think they've all been removed now.

I've been informed they're not bots. They're some sort of "cheap labor paid to link spam, probably for shady search engine optimization purposes" and they're coming from different emails, countries and IPs.

I wonder how much that guy gets paid an hour (or post) to post spam on BroadwayWorld...and if he ever stops to read an article or a thread...or look at some Sutton Foster pictures or weigh in on the Ricky Martin question.

Maybe he doesn't even speak English or maybe he goes from this board to a tennis board to a Tea Party board to computer board.

I want to say to him, "Does your job beat working at Walmart or as a sandwich artist at Subway?" "How did you find your job?" "Do they give you health insurance?"

Or maybe just "Can you post a face pic?"

Who ARE you, Cheap Labor Internet Spambot Person?

Maybe the "sign up" feature should be disabled for the time being.

That's what's so scary about the inter-web. They don't even have to BE here to steal our fence-posts. They are probably in Mumbai.

And, like Whack-a-Mole, they're back again.

Why do they get all those views? Do people actually think they can see The Dark Knight Rises online, click on it, and then say, "Aww shucks!"?
