Does anyone here know of a good, reputable, summer program for high schoolers that is inexpensive? My daughter is dying to spend the summer in France next summer to immerse herself in the language. Thanks!

I thought I had one for you but then I noticed you said "reputable." Sorry.

Thats so weird, Namo, are you from Ohio? That's where I went to high school! LOL
This is such a weird flashback. I was in vocal ensemble and the guy in the picture used to run it! Are you him? What a trip!
Wow, it all becomes very clear.
Mom, People to People was started by Dwight Eisenhower and is still running. Lots of options.

Thanks SOMMS! I just e-mailed them for more info. Does anyone else have other programs for me to research!
supportivemom,
Maybe you can call The Camp Lady 800.879.6363 or The Summer Lady 866.566.2267. They're both services whose mission is helping parents find summer programs and/or summer camps for their kids. There are others, but I've used and or know people who have used those 2 services. There's no fee to you (which, of course, means that the programs and camps pay them - so just be aware of that). They can help identify programs and send you information about those programs, so it helps cut out some of the legwork.
I'll also check later with a friend whose daughter spent a summer in France and provide any helpful information.
Good luck!

supportivemom,
I did World Learning's Experiment in International Living program two summers in a row to Australia and the United Kingdom. The experiences I had will be with me forever. Best part is I applied for financial aid and got the majority of both my trips completely paid for.
Here's the website: http://www.experimentinternational.org/
Feel free to ask me any questions about it, I used to be part of their student panel.
My friend in High School did a Rotary International for a whole year in Taiwan.
People to People is very reputable. I was initially going to do a program in Australia but 9/11, worldwide travel concerns, and my worried parents prevented that from happening.
Thank you all! I will definitely check into all of these programs. I already scheduled a meeting with People to People and will ask my Rotary friends about their program- I was in Rotaract in college so I know how reputable they are. With my son in college- money is VERY tight. I just don't want my daughter to have to suffer because of that- I will do the sacrificing! I really appreciate your suggestions!
