Survivor Vanuatu!

Great first episode last night. It was the first "first episode" to vote a player off for strategy and not weakest link.

And, aren't the players yummy??

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

-First to go on Survivor: Vanuatu:
Although Chris botched the challenge, for reasons unbeknown to this viewer (and I blame bad editing for that) 27-year old Brook was the first-person eliminated on Survivor: Vanuatu. Instead of the bloated tribal ceremony opening that CBS screeched you don't want to miss, I would have preferred spending more time with the 18 contestants I know nothing about. Like all first episodes of Survivor, one-hour (or in this case, 50-minutes) is not enough time to tell the initial story.

-- from a TV industry review. I agree about the editing. There must have been much more to Brook being voted off than we could see.

and YUMMY certainly describes that FBI agent! I'm hooked!

I abandonded Survivor for Will and Grace. I should have stuck with Survivor. Why did they vote off Brook?

I don't really know. Strategy, of some sort - but it wasn't clear to me...

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

The "older" guys decided to take control from the beginning. Brook was referred to as cocky at one point. If we had seen more footage, it might have been clearer.

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

The editing wasn't great. Guess they didn't want to give the first guy off too much air time.

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

Brook said that when he saw that the teams were split along gender lines, he knew he wouldn't last long. On a mixed sex team, his strength would have been an asset instead of a threat or as unneeded to a team of all men. He seemed like a nice guy in his interview this morning on CBS. He knew all the names of the first evictees on each SURVIVOR season. He is a big fan of the show. The interviewer asked if we didn't see something that lead to his eviction but he said no.

That's a shame to see him go, then.

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

I missed it!! Damn birthday parties. I don't like the first episodes much cause the reward challenges are for matches.

Arent the reward challenges the best part?

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

and whats with the casting, all the people are the same each year. the old guy, the old lady, the angry black guy, the lazy dumb girl, and butch lady. it's starting to get like real world casting.

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

ewww. I have complete and total aversion to reality programming, first among them Survivor.
Give me a sitcom in which the world conforms to neat little patterns that can be wrapped up in 30 minutes than some fake game show in which the outcome pretends to be "real."

Wait--everyone doesn't vote people off an island in hopes of winning $1 million?? Oops.

re: Survivor Vanuatu!

I have managed to go all this time without watching a full episode of SURVIVOR.
