Mrs. Ebersol's moving tribute to her son to Tim Tim Russert this morning was extraordinary. I don't know how she found the composure or the eloquence. Or grace. And the end of the interview was beyond heartbreaking: "...Please keep sending all the emails and letters, because I promise I'll read them. With Teddy gone, I have nothing else to do..."
auggie - do you remember the address they posted to send those emails to? I didn't write it down.
from the website...

Oh God. That poor woman. My heart goes out to her.
thanks joey!
To lose a child has to be the most devastating thing to endure. I can't even imagine how to cope with that. My prayers go out to the Ebersol Family.
psst, Boobs, it's Dick, not Christine...
I saw this interview this morning and she broke my heart.
Kate and Allie was my favorite show growing up. SSJ looks the exact same.
She is such a strong woman for going on TV so soon after the accident.
She really moved me esp. when she said that she will read everything because she has nothing else to do. I've been thinking about that interview since I saw it.
The first thing I thought of when I heard about the accident was SSJ. I did'nt see the interview, and actually I'm glad. It sounds heartbreaking.
Does anyone know if this is the same child she had during the run of Kate & Allie?
God Bless the woman.

It's very touching (even in the printed form).
She's a very sweet woman. I love her.
She is in everyones prayers. To happen & especially right before Christmas. That is a bummer
Charlie Ebersol is a Notre Dame student, and is very well-known around here due to his bid for Student Body President last year. A very good friend of mine went on several dates with him this year. She says that he had a very close relationship with his brother. They used to send each other goofy text messages randomly throughout the day. Charlie's longtime girlfriend and I have several mutual friends, as she was in the Film, Television, and Theatre department over there (she played the witch in Into the Woods my freshman year here) They've been dating her for 3 or 4 years now. I think he was technically a couple with her when he was dating my friend... but that's another story. Charlie's dorm had a special mass to pray for the family earlier this week. I'm still praying.
Thank you for that info, Dottie. What a wise, wise woman. I'm amazed by her grace.
So pretty many years ago in the zanie Where Ever Angels Go Trouble Follows, she has become an amazingly brave and wise woman. I'm sending her my love and hopes for brighter days. I know she knows we care.
Her strength is the source of her beauty! I am in awe of her Grace and Peace during this terrible time. I am sending her my hope and prayers that she continue to finds love and joy in the memories of her son.
And how gracious that she made a point of remembering the other people who were lost in that terrible accident.
OMG this is terrible. to lose a very young son under those circumstances. i'm speechless. my prayers go out to her and her family.
Tragic. Thanks for posting the information.
(And to answer whomever, I think this is another child than the one born during the show since K&A was already off the air in 1991 or whenever this sweet departed child was born

It is such a tragedy for this family. My cousin died at a young age and his parents have never been the same. It just seems so wrong for a parent to lose their child. I just hope they are able to keep their strength up and remember that they have other children who need them. Their lives, while forever altered, are not ruined. I feel confident that Teddy would not want them to mourn, yet get on with their lives, in his memory. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

When I first heard she was appearing on Today, my thought was 'why'? Thanks for the link to the interview - it was an extraordinary thing for her to share her thoughts. I've even chosen one of her statements as my sig quote for right now.
