I love California, spicy tuna, and vegetable or shrimp tempura rolls. The Asian-fusion restaurant near my house also makes this interesting salmon/melted goat cheese roll that's pretty good.

They've finally opened a really good place on Staten Island - Sushi Excellent. I was getting tired of having to go to Brooklyn and Manhattan constantly. Although Kotobuki Bistro in Brooklyn is worth it.

dolphin, you are correct that sushi is not necessarily raw, but I think the commonly accepted definition is "with rice."

My house usually goes for sushi every Sunday night. The speciality at our favorite place is called "crispy tuna" and is tempura batter shrimp with veggies in a spicy sauce. Fabulous.

This has been my favorite food since 1983! I adore it and the only item I don't care for is the salmon roe, I skip that and I love the rest. Funny, I don't care for the salmon roe but love caviar. (the roe is just so big red and squishy I guess)
I could survive on sushi, Miso soup and hot sake for life!
And lots of wasabe!!! LOTS! I like my first bite to draw tears in my eyes!

I love sushi. Just be careful where you eat it or you could get a bad parasite, happened to Bette Midler.
My favorite sushi is:
Spicy shrimp rolls
Spicy tuna rolls
Eel and cucumber I also love salmon rolls.
Shrimp Tempura rolls with salmon also makes me happy with salmon roe and spicy sauce.
Sushi is my second favorite, chinese is my first favorite.
I adore all ASIAN FOOD.
Chinese
Japanese
Korean
Thai
Vietnamese
I could live on Asian and never need anything else.

(Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so_
I LOVE ASIAN FOOD.
