Ivan and I had the pleasure of seeing this a few weeks ago. It was a gorgeous production. It premiered at the Las Vegas Academy on November 1, 2007 and stared Philip Cerza as Sweeney Todd.
Here are some shots:
The opening:

By the Sea:

It looks really good, I like the silhouette effect of the opening, but I don't really like the look of By the Sea.
Fiction Writer it would have looked even better on the ON-topic board
It would look great on the student board, but who wanders over there?
It looks like Frankenstein takes the Alter Boys to enjoy A Little Night Music. How does it end, austin?
You know how it ends.
Don't get snarky.
learn how to read Fiction Writer, I said ON topic board not student board
i take it you have their permission to be posting pics of the production online?
I take it the Myspace photo album I took these from has permission.
Right?
Elphaba: What? Since these are STUDENTS, it should go on the STUDENT board. I'd post it on the On Topic board if it was of the real show, but it's not, since this isn't a Broadway production.

Why are you posting it at all?
Does anyone really care to see photos of some random student production in Las Vegas?
damn. did ya'll take an extra dosage of bitch pill today?
colleen, you have an extra word in that question: "it."
Some random student production?
This was the world premiere of the student edition. I think that's a pretty big deal.
you think? since when.
"damn. did ya'll take an extra dosage of bitch pill today?"
They just don't like me.

It's not the world Premier. The World Premier was @ Stagedoor Manor This summer at the end of July.
Hmm...I have a program that says otherwise.

Well I assure you it was not. I was in the World Premier Production, so I'm sure I would know.
If you're really that worried about it, I suggest you call the directors over at LVA. They can sort it all out for you.

The ensemble sounded not-so-good based on that Youtube clip.
"They just don't like me."
wow, Austin must have been to see the Wizard.......
BOQs -- that's all I gotta say.
From the Stagedoor Manor website:
"Summer 2007 was such an exciting time for Stagedoor: In partnership with Music Theatre International and the original creators, Stagedoor produced a one-time workshop School Edition of the international hit Avenue Q. We were also fortunate to produce a pilot production of RENT School Edition (which Stagedoor helped develop over the past two summers) and the first workshop production of Sweeney Todd School Edition, a new title currently being considered by MTI.
Sounds like the one at Stagedoor was just a workshop.
I went to LVA. Don't hate. If you love theatre, you should appreciate the fact that students are getting the experience of performing great shows. Then these students are the ones going on to create the next generation of musical theatre performers. Would you rather have seen pictures of High School Musical? I had the wonderful opportunity of being in the world amateur premier of Little Women the musical. It was a life changing show.
The ensemble may not sound wonderful, but they're all students. They're learning. Appreciate that people still have a great love for theatre.
Oh and Sondheim is working with the cast when the show goes to Nebraska. And Sondheim considers LVA's production the world amateur premier...sooo...I wouldn't argue with him.

*does the dance*
I told you so! I told you so!
And Elphaba, do you have to post a mean comment every time you see me in a thread? You don't like me. I get that. Move on and SHUT THE F*CK UP.
That's all. Back to Sweeney Todd.
dramatothemax: We thought about seeing Little Women, but I hated the book and I've never liked the movie. It didn't seem like something we would enjoy. I hate how we missed Miss Saigon, though. Those pictures look fantastic.
