T-Mobile G1 or iPhone?

My T-Mobile contract is ending in another month and I have two options: I can either renew with T-Mobile and upgrade to the G1 phone or I can get an iPhone on ATT for the same cost.
Is iPhone the best option here?

Posted: 3/8/09 at 11:34amconsidering the T-Mobile's service is nowhere near as expansive as ATT (which is nowhere near as expansive as Verizon) go with iPhone. I have a few issues with the 3G model which I never had with the original, but I still love it

Posted: 3/8/09 at 7:36pmI Love my Iphone. No phone has ever held up as well for me. You have service, always. You can also do things on it that no other phone can do. It is very much worth it.

I hate at&t they have bad service, I mean costumer service

they are very rude if u call them, so I have to go with G1 and

the iPhone freezes a lot and the screen cracks easily just by dropping it from a 1 inch drop and At&t's plan is more expensive than t-mobile
I believe.<-------

I've been with att for years and was just faced with the same dilemma, though I was also considering the blackberry storm.
I've never had trouble with att, actually they've been helpful in the past, so I decided not to switch and am loving my iphone to pieces...the apps are great.
There are two problems you might want to consider. My partner replaced his blackberry with the iphone and he isnt as happy...even though you have internet everywhere, his blackberry was faster and he's not getting his messages as fast. Also, you cannot block numbers without downloading a program and voiding your contract. Supposedly they are working on an app with this, however.

Posted: 3/9/09 at 3:20pmI love my BlackBerry Storm. I think the only downside is the severe lack of apps at the moment, but they've been adding more and more.

Posted: 3/9/09 at 3:30pmI returned the Storm after 3 days. Love my blackberry curve. My husband has the Iphone. It is fun. But it is a toy.

Posted: 3/10/09 at 11:54amI have the Blackberry Curve and it's great. I have to give some props to AT&T. Our corporate land lines and long distance service were hijacked and they really helped me out with exactly what steps needed to be taken and what to say to rectify the problem and get a refund. The problem was solved in a day.

If you want a business device, get the G1 or Bold.
But If you are looking for an entertainment device, there's nothing better than the iPhone. I have the 16GB white, and it's so great! I am not a business user by any means, but it's perfect for me. Having your iPod and phone together really helps alot so you don't need to carry around multiple devices. The Apps are great to, with some being enormously entertaining, while others are extremely useful.
It's basically what you need it for. Business, g1 or Bold, entertainment, iPhone.

Posted: 8/25/09 at 9:09amI recently switched from T-Mobile to Sprint for the Palm Pre and I love it. While I am a self professed Apple Whore I just couldn't work with the keyboard (because I already have an iPod Touch) but the Palm has a physical slide out keyboard that's so much easier for texting plus it's smaller.

What the heck happened to my post? I bumped the thread up, and I thought killertofu responded to me, but my post has disappeared.
How is the reception generally on iPhone? I have an LG Shine, and reception is horrible in my house. My call will drop about 6-7 times within 1-2 hours. Other than that, the phone seems to be fine everywhere else.
I know phone reception generally varies depending on your location, but I know sometimes having a phone with better reception helps as well. Thoughts?

Hi,
I have a blackberry and my two year contract is up on Oct 28th.
I wanted to know if Iphones can play video. Is there a flip for Mac app? If so I will buy the Iphone with video. It would be lighter then lugging around my laptop for business presentations. Anyone could you see if my videos play on an iphone. Plese IM me. Merci.
The site is this: http://www.corinescorner.com and I want to know if you can watch my videos on the blog with your iphone or not.

Corine2, I know you said to PM you, but I'll post here because I am not 100% positive I am answering correctly.
As far as I know, the iPhone does not have support to watch videos (I had an iPod Touch) because it does not have Flash video support; however, you can view videos on YouTube. My iPod Touch had an application for YouTube.
When I went to websites that had a video automatically play on the main page, it usually showed a puzzle piece (or something to that extent) wherever the video was supposed to be playing. So I am assuming the same would go if you were to play a video manually on a random website.
However, you can add movies/video to your iPhone because it has an iPod built into it.

Posted: 8/25/09 at 11:51pmIf only you could add the flip for MAC program as an app. Then I would get one.

Posted: 8/26/09 at 12:28amThe reception issue definitely has an affect by where you live. For example, the best reception where I live is from Verizon, and that still only gives about 2 bars of service. Actually, now that I notice, I had the razr, but switched to the moto w755, and get 3 or 4 bars now. My sister switched to Sprint today, and says she gets no service in the house, but she's moving to California where it works better.
