FW, you must not be old enough to remember SCTV, but it was a sketch comedy show that ran in the late 70s and early 80s. It was much like SNL, but consistently funnier. It was born out of the Second City comedy troupe in Canada.
And no one grew into anything new, we just became the worst of what we were."

It did go very downhill when O'Hara left and Robin Duke and that other guy came on.
