Auditions for this musical at my college are coming up soon,
I have never heard of this until this year
What would be a good audition song to show I can sing this type of music?

kudos to replies

The show leaves a lot to be desired... its pretty awful. My college did it a few years ago and its just a mess. Some of the music is pretty but thats about it. The music for the most part is more contemporary musical theater sounding, but has a few songs that are standard sounding. Its not a comedy as the title may suggest, so don't sing anything comical. There are no high sopranos, all females belt. If you have a really soulful voice there is a character named "Beautiful Music" who sings/belts her face off, think Elphaba, then sing something with an edge. There is a sister and her friend who are "cutesy" so, you could go with an ado annie type song. I sang "i still believe in love" from they're playing our song when i auditioned for it. Hope that helps.

thats so helpful!
I'm not expecting to get cast as a freshman, but my goal is to try out for everything I can this year so by next year, I'm familiar with everyone
