Is it only today?
It's EVERYDAY, Jane! Just MORE sales toward the end of the season.
There's always fantabulous bargains there, no matter what your needs are. Beware of "impulse" buying, though. It's hypnotic!
Oh, I know! I go in there pretty frequently, but I never noticed bargains like the ones you got! I'm not a great shopper.
TJ Maxx is always hit or miss for me. The one near my house has fun house stuff and purses, but for clothes not so much.
The DVD section oftentimes has fantastic items as well. I am a DVD bin hound and TJ Maxx almost always has the most interesting selections. I've picked up $5 copies of NOTES ON A SCANDAL, STATE & MAIN, ANGELS IN AMERICA, THE LARAMIE PROJECT, and many other more esoteric films and often give them as gifts.
The remodeled stores are a HUGE improvement, as well. Though the robot registers are a little alarming/confusing.
P
oH YEAH, before the remodel, the place looked like a schlock house...but I kinda like stores like that..it's sort of like the old Bronx Loehmann's, where the women ravaged those racks of goodies like animals! Fun to find "treasures" among the ruins.
We used to have a Loehmann's in DC too. I think it might still be there. Sometimes you could find cool stuff there.
TJ MAXX is one of the few places I buy sheets because you can get 400+ thread count for less than $50. LOVE THEM!
I got a really nice Ralph Lauren duvet cover at Home Goods (that's the same company right?) for like $29.

The one on Wisconsin? It was still there as of last year.
With stores like these, I find it's easier to go in with a very broad idea of what you want as opposed to something specific. If I go in looking for summer dresses, I can walk out with an armful, but if I'm looking for a black polo shirt, I can search every aisle and come away with nothing.
Yep, and there was also one in Annandale I think.
