I would like to also recommend the Little Steamer thing that Joy Mangano came out with. I brought the steamer and an iron to college. The iron is still in it's original box, unopened, two years later. The steamer is used once a week. Easy, fast, wonderful. Buy it now.

My friend swears by the FlowBee thing. Cuts her husband and kids hair with it... and they've always looked fine whenever I see them.
The RevoStyler thing takes some getting used to. When I first used it, I created a knot of hair that I finally had to just cut out.

Stick-up bulbs - we have a lot of blackouts. Stuck them to the inside of the bathroom cabinets and we have loose ones we can carry around. So much better/safer than candles.
Highly recommended.

I've had great success with Oxy Clean. Why do all apartments insist on using light beige carpeting?

The place where I have physical therapy has a Total Gym and I use it every time I go in there. For me it's used to strengthen my knees and it's really great for that. If I had the money, I'd get one for home right now.
Oops - I missed your question about cost. Bare bones minimum is around $400.00 and it goes up from there. You can probably find used ones on Craig's List. This is their home page with details on ordering them new: http://www.totalgymdirect.com/

I've had my eye on the Shark Steam Mop. Bed, Bath & Beyond carries it, so I'm going to use a 20% off coupon and see for myself. At least I won't have to pay shipping and handling, and if it doesn't work on my wood floor, I'll return it. I'm going to test a small patch first, just in case.

Those hair removal things that kinda look like pens work well too some degree, after awhile it won't work as well.

We bought the Todd English hand held blender a few years ago and we love it!

The place I get PT at also uses the Total gym. My brother bought one and he uses it a lot. Not sure of price though.
I bought the magic bullet from Wallmart. It was cheaper than off tv, but you don't get the juicer or bigger blender parts. It was well worth the price. It works great and is very easy to clean.

Sesot, do you use the Magic Bullet while a cigarette is dangling from your mouth (like in the infomercial)?
