Posted: 7/24/04 at 11:31pmEr...my Split Ender didn't work, I even tried with very little hair. Maybe it was defective. When I opened the compartment, there were no hairs in it like there was supposed to be.

The RevoStyler...I'm a huge fan. AND, let us not overlook the SteamBuggy...to my mind, the single finest purchase ever made from an infomercial. I nuke everything with steam instead of chemicals. Words cannot express how much I love that thing.

Posted: 7/25/04 at 12:21amOh... I forgot about the vacuum saver!!!!! This thing sucks all the air out of the bags and the food does not go stale! Which is awesome because one of my biggest pet peeves is stale food! I won't eat it!!!! My sister says she can't taste the difference, but she's a freak! This thing is an absolute godsend!!! I always hated when I opened a bag of crackers and the next day they were all stale. It's grose. And no freezer burn on left overs eaither. This thing really works. It's a bit of an investment though. Plus you can use it for so many other things too, not just food. You can vacuum save valuable stuff too. It's just great. Couldn't live without it!

Posted: 7/25/04 at 12:22amHow much do you pay for the replacement bags, though?
#30re: TV PRODUCTS THAT DO NOT WORK
Posted: 7/25/04 at 12:25amyou can order them on line, and it's pretty much the same you pay for ziploc bags or something like that....

Posted: 7/25/04 at 12:27amI've been thinking about getting one of those for a while now. Food spoils extremely fast in my fridge for some reason. How much did you pay for your machine?

Posted: 7/25/04 at 12:33amWell, my Mom got me the turbo cooker and the vacuum saver last Christmas cuz' I'd always watch the infomercials and just be like... I WANT THAT! IF I HAD THE TURBO COOKER - I'D COOK EVERY NIGHT. So she bought them and needless to say I don't cook EVERY night, but often. They're both on the pricey side. If you find it under $100 bucks GET IT! I don't think you'll see much lower than that. And I recommend buying it on-line, not over the phone. But if you have an "As Seen on TV" store at your mall, like we do you could try there.

We got a Food Saver but barely use it.
I want a Revo Styler now! Does it really make your hair straight...because if I blow dry my hair, it is kind of straight but there is always that small wave towards the bottom.

It's a godsend.

CATS, I love you.
And I don't care how many straightening devices it takes.
You will be mine.
I'm willing to sit here for hours...

Posted: 7/25/04 at 1:10amI recently bought a new straightner. It's great, but it works best if I air dry my hair, because too much heat can be bad (if I blow dried it). Except, one side always flairs out a bit, I hate that! My hair straightener was $37.99.

This is a reply to your message about Huggable Hangers. Did you buy them on TV or find them in a store...and what store?

Posted: 7/25/04 at 10:13amI fell prey to an infomercial a while back and bought one of Ron Popeil's pasta machines. What a piece of crap. It made decent pasta, but cleaning it was virtually impossible. It went to the parish rummage sale within weeks!

Posted: 7/25/04 at 10:50amI have very curly/wavy hair, and the only thing that works for me is the Revo Styler followed by a flatiron. For the first time in my life, I can go out in humidity without my hair curling every whichway.

Posted: 7/25/04 at 3:43pmI bought the pancake flipper because I always mess up pancakes when turning them. No matter what I used to grease that piece of crap, the pancake would always stick to the pan and not flip when I turned it over. Went into the trash.

Nads - did not work
epil stop - did not work
magic touch hair eraser thingy - did not work
(i have a bit of a hair removal obsission)
ab-roller - did not work
ab-glide - did not work
(apparently you have to use them for your abs to get toned)
and to all you kids straightening your hair you need to get the book "Curly Girl" then go to their salon in Soho, Devachan. Its a revloution for the curly haired guys and gals. I will never ever go anywhere else ever again (and they have certified people throughout the country). You'll never straigten your hair again. Embrace your inner curl!

Posted: 7/25/04 at 5:05pmNo thanks. First off, I like clean hair. Secondly, I embraced my curls all my life and now that there is finally a simple method for straightening it, I'm in heaven. Some days I go curly and some straight.

I would love to embrace my curls, but my hair is only wavy.
And it's not consistently wavy.
The sides are all spastic, but there's this large chunk in the back that is very straight and will not curl no matter what I do.
So a straightening iron is just easier.
That, and a lots of hats.

I have wavy, bordering on curly, below shoulder length hair. Some days, especially when the humidity is high, I just leave it au natural and let it dry on its own...which usually takes just about the length of time it takes me to drive to work. But in the winter or when I need to look more "corporately acceptable", I'll use the blow dryer in conjunction with the RevoStyler. My hair has suffered much less breakage using that instead of a regular brush. And lord know it's much better off for not being fried by a curling iron.
As much fun as people tend to make of infomercials (yes, even me)...some of the products really *are* pretty remarkable. I am inclined to be defensive about caving in and buying things sold via infomercial, but truth be told, I've had a pretty high satisfaction rate from the purchases I've made.
