I was sure there must be several pre-existing threads on this topic but a search didn't come up with anything except for recommendations for Cirque shows. I'm hopefully going to Vegas for a long weekend in the next few months. The only two certainties on the itinerary are that I'll be gambling and experiencing..."The Thunder From Down Under". (Rrorr.)
I've been to Vegas a couple of times before but haven't had the time or money (or legal age) to catch any of the shows or night-time entertainment until now. Any suggestions? I don't think I want to be subject to Celine Dion, but I will possibly try to get tickets to "O". I'm contemplating "Phantom Of The Opera" too.
Did I mention "The Thunder From Down Under"?

most of those guys are not that attractive.
I wouldn't kick a third of them out of my bed for leaving crumbs.

i wouldnt let a third of them in my bed
That still means the other two-thirds have hope.

the only three that do anything for me are back right, back left and the joey mcintyre looking on in the front row.
I'm feelin' the back right, the guy on his knees in front of him, and the guy in the front second-from-left.
But if you know any better shows in this vein, I'm more than open to suggestions.
La Reve is really good.
there are three I would allow to be the mother of my children.....
We seem like a fairly greedy bunch.
Can anyone recommend a good buffet in Vegas? (I want gourmet, not the $7 Tex-Mex junk.)
There's an awesome buffet at the Rio that has pretty much all the regional food styles from around the world. I remember it being rather expensive though, but it was worth it. at least, to me. I had lobster for the first time there. it was good.
Ooh, it's a seafood buffet, right? Mussels, lobster, crab and the like?
When I was with my friend on the strip, one of these guys (I dont remember which one, but he had long hair) came up to us and started talking. We talked for like 2 minutes, then he took my phone and called his phone with it to get my number. He knew I was only 16 because he asked. It was odd. We didnt remember his name so now we call him Chaz.
(was my thread about shows one that you are talking about?)
My favorite buffet is Pharoah's Pheast at the Luxor, it's huge and has some great food. Brunch lines tend to be really long though!
And I enjoyed 'O', also saw Splash at the Rivera, and a magic show (at Harrah's maybe?). I love watching the Bellagio fountains, the Pirate fight at Treasure Island, and just seeing all the cool things around the hotels in Vegas. Also went clubbing at Ra at the Luxor, lots of fun.
Tiff, you were supposed to tell me when you'd be in Vegas, so we could have our "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" moment! :-P
The Paris buffet is really good, as well. And I second La Reve suggestion. Wasn't a fan of Ka.
The stress of all this upcoming travel is about to give me a nosebleed!
Is a brunch buffet worth checking out? I've never been much of a breakfast eater but I know brunch is quite popular (I've only done it a couple of times).
(BTW liotte, I think your thread might be the one I was referring to. And I LOVE the pirate fights at TI! I'm such a geek.)
JACXR, hey now, what happens in The Apple stays in The Apple, got it?
Brunch buffets are awesome, I am a big fan (and I usually don't eat breakfast either).
The phrase "champagne brunch" has a glorious ring to it.
I'm wondering how many days I need there. I haven't been since I was a minor but I'm thinking I ought to hit a lot of the shows and nightlife!
Where are you planning on staying?
Who are you going with?
Not too sure yet - ideally someplace in the centre of the strip (Aladdin, Paris, Bellagio or Caesar's would be ideal). As for who I'm going with, if I go over the Columbus Day weekend, it'll be with some girl friends. If it's over the winter holidays, it'll be a family shindig.
I second the Paris buffet. If you get a chance, go see Celine Dions "A New Day". I loved the production value and she was in brilliant voice.
