Tall girls

Is it just me or are girls today getting taller? I was at a rehearsal today for a dance show and I felt like I was in the land of the giants, keep in mind I'm 6'1!

See, haha, I feel the same way. Only I'm horribly short. I'. 5'1, and people tower over me. If there were one thing I could wish for and get, it would be to be taller. haha.

Thank you Sumofallthings! That's a reasonable height to be intimidated by.

I'm a girl and I'm 5'8" and hate when people comment how tall I am, like I'm a giant or something. If I'm so tall, why are there so many girls that are taller than me? Kate Moss is 5'9" and she's one of the shortest runway models out there.

I used to be tall for my age. I was 5'4" in the 5th grade. Then in the 6th grade, I just stopped growing at 5'6". It's really wierd for a lot of people to be taller than me, because I was used to being a giant for most of my youth.

im still 5'1". im the shortest person in my grade, and shorter than most people in my school in the younger grades. everyone seems tall to me.

My friend Maria is only 5'1 but she is perfect for gymnastics! The calves on that girl make me glad she's my friend and not someone she would consider kicking!

Yes, I'm 1/8 short of 5'8" and everyone tells me I'm tall which I never understand. That said, most of my friends are shorter than me, and then I have one who is about 5'11"

I always wanted to be short so I could wear really high heels. Even though I'm not overly tall, I don't like being taller than people so I tend to wear really low heels.

Most people are. My cousin is taller than me and wears huge heels. So does my friend who is taller than me. I don't want to be tall. I want to be...less than tall.

I'm about 5'7". Now being keeping in mind that I'm Asian and still have at least 4 more years to grow, that's no small feat.

(If you know the Asian girl stereotype, you know that they're all short.)

I'm really afraid that I'll grow MORE though, because I'm really quite content with my current height.

I hit 5"4 when I was 12 -- been there ever since, though I think I gained 1/4 inch when I was 19.

I suppose you never know, but I've still recently have been getting growing pains. They're a pain in the butt when combined with shin splints.

Yeah when I was 13 I was about 5'5"
which I hated! It didn't help that all
my friends were skinny little girls
who averaged out at 4'11".

No bitterness here. . .

I was always the last person on line for picture day in middle school. Then many just stopped growing and I got to be taller than them. I'm also 5'4".

Blair, I'm right there with you. I went from being the largest in my grade to one of the smallest. Now it's all evened out, although I am still the shortest of all my housemates (I'm aaaaaalmost 5'7').

In that same light, I swear guys are shrinking by the day. I am 5'8" and when I stand on the subway (in heels usually so say I'm 5'10"), I am the same height if not taller than 90% of the guys on the subway. What is up w/ that. Eat your Wheaties boys!
