Posted: 12/11/07 at 12:50amI got my first tattoo today! I hate being that guy who posts random, pointless threads, but I'm really happy with my tattoo and feel compelled to shout it from the cliffs, so to speak. Anyone else have one/some?

Did you go original and get music notes or comedy and tragedy masks?

Hahah, no, I went even more original and got a blue rose. But whatever, I'm happy with it and it has significance to me. I don't have any good pictures of it yet, and I'm hesitant even to post any if I had them, because it's on my hip, and I don't want to give you pervs any more fodder

Posted: 12/11/07 at 12:58amHey, I went all original and got a chinese symbol on my shoulder blade. Then I got a jeweled cross in the small of my back.

Posted: 12/11/07 at 1:31amI have a cross on my foot with the rosary beads leading up my foot and around my ankle. I have the comedy/tragedy masks on one ankle, and a rose with ballet slippers on the other ankle. On my hip, I have a wicca symbol for love with the word "Innamorata" around the symbol, which means "the beloved."

I've had a celtic knot around my right ankle for more than a year now. I picked out the design so it's not some cheesy imitation they had in the store.
What matters most is that you like it and you're certain it's something you won't mind seeing for the rest of your life--even when you're all old and wrinkley.

Pervs? There are no pervs on this site.

So, is it on your lower or upper hip?
Left or right?

Posted: 12/11/07 at 2:21amIf you are worried about seeing it when you are old and wrinkly, you should get it on your ass. Cher says it doesn't bother her because she can't see it anymore.

Posted: 12/11/07 at 2:21amBwahahah it's right on my right hipbone, which made things interesting, because it barely hurt at all when he went over the part directly over the bone, but hort like a BITCH on the fatter part.

Cher has had some stunning plastic surgery, I must say.
I don't think she needs to worry about a wrinkle anywhere on her body.

Posted: 12/11/07 at 2:25amThe one on my shoulder didn't really bother me at all. The cross on the small of my back hurt like a BITCH. The long part of the cross is right on my spine. cheese and rice.

I've got a bull on one bicep and "No Fear" across one pec. I'm planning on getting a flaming gingerbread man on my calf soon.
The one on my bicep was annoyingly painful, but nothing compared to the one on my pec. And the closer it got to the nipple, the worse it got.

I have two. My first one -- on my right hip -- hurt FAR more than the one on my back, even though when he was on my spine it hurt like hell!
This was my latest addition at the end of September....

I have 5 tattoos......people tend to get one, or many.
All of mine have special significance, as they should.
Congrats on your first.

LMAO. I also have comedy/tragedy masks. Having been in entertainment my entire life, though, it seemed fitting.
Elphaba, both of mine have special significance as well. I believe it's pointless to get a tattoo unless it really means something to you.
The one I just got is something I designed for a self portrait project in HS. It holds a lot of meaning.... about myself and my godmother, who's been one of the most influential people in my life.
