I was one, and I hope I didn't suck.
sorry to group all of them together,I have had some good TAs before but today I had a fight with three of them that don't know how to do their job.

I was a TA. And probably did suck.
next year I have a class without a TA for the first time in seven years! I can't wait =]
i've always had bad teaching assistants, i always felt like i was stupid because there was one in my class.
me too. They don't get out of my ass when I don't need them and then they don't do anything when I do.
most of them are dumb as dirt.
I wish a few TA's would have gotten into my ass....
Well, at least they improved your spelling.
Doesn't being a TA go towards work-study? We always had them and they were just useless. They handed out test booklets.
TA are easy to fool though. We have a rule in my school when only seniors can leave lunch to go to their lockers early, and I REALLY needed to go, so I was trying to get through and this new TA was like "You're a senior? You can go." I was about to take advantage of that when my English teacher went buy and said "Oh no! Anna here's a sophomore." so then I told the TA that my baby made me REALLY need to go to the bathroom.
So he let me go. And then he asked me how far along I was, since I obviously didn't look like I was past the first trimester.
:-0
I kinda feel bad now. And dirty.
for my entire 4 years at high school, i did not have one TA :)
Yeah, that's what my TAs have always been. That's all I did at least. It was a technology class, so kids just went on Mavis Beacon all day, and I just played games and took typing speeds.
TAs are only as good as the teachers who are supposed to be guiding them. Some professors simply dont know how to delegate responsibility, so they give the TAs virtually nothing to do.
Sure, some TAs are dumber than rocks, but what does that say about the student body in general as a result?
yesterday, a TA who I never had, who no longer works at my school, gave me a detention for chewing gum. I mean my god, isn't that ridiculous?? I was so angry. I mean, if it was tobacco, I would understand.

There's a TA in my global history class and she's pretty knowlegable. She sometimes helps us understand things we didn't get. I've actually never had a problem with TAs
are you using ta as synonymous to student teacher. if so, they are always amusing... fortunately of all my four years of high school i've only been subjected to one, and he'd do magic tricks at the end of class. haha. it made calculus all the more tolerable.

Sometimes TA's can help assist the professor, but in most cases I've seen, they really are just- there.
Ma-vis Bea-con. Wow, the days of that in Keyboarding 9th grade.
I never had TAs in high school but my college TAs have always been either really helpful or pretty bland, none have been awful or incompetent. I find it they tend to be a bit more excited about their jobs than my professors because they clearly haven't been corrupted by the job just yet.
If I get into a master's program this year I'll probably end up being one so I can't rally bash them.
Liam's in college? Didn't think so...
There are TAs in college, never knew that they existed in a HS setting.

Meh, I don't really notice TAs, the only onw I really remember is this guy I had in seventh grade who looked like Abraham Lincoln.
They're fun to confuse. And take advantage of.
