Buffet
Are you planning on buying one?
I'm not a big fan of the counter top on it. Doesn't seem to be a great fit with that color/style and it seems like it could be an eye sore that really stands out if it doesn't match completely rather than a nice complementary piece.

it would fit in the space we have in the dining room. The kitchen has red appliances, squash colored walls, and a black granite mixed top, and all looks great......
I can't tell from this pix if this would work in the adjoining dining room
see patronus, that's what I can't tell.....that top could match, or be horrible........crap

I agree with what Patronus said.
It looks almost like corian on the top which doesn't match the rest.
It's not the type of thing that's easy to buy, test and return if need be.
If you have any doubt at all, I'd pass unless you are willing to figure a way to cover the counter top if it comes to that. The actual buffet/cabinet space is actually very cute which is the tough part to pass up.
The way you've described your kitchen in the past I could see that working, but in there case there might be a fine line between fabulous and hideous.

The base is very cute. And, it's cheap enough that if the top turns out to be truly hideous you could probably switch it out pretty easily with something from Home Depot. Possibly even something that matches your existing countertops.

"Assembly required."
That's the part that always bothers me. You know those pre-drilled wholes never match up to where they're needed.
I bought something similar...white with a butcherblock top...and assembled it myself. I've been very happy with it. Let me see if I can find the specifics...

I think this is the kind of piece that you can make work in just about any setting depending on how you dress it. You could add a small vase or piece that draws in the squash color and I think it would be perfect. And the price is great. You could always add a piece of rich fabric to cover the top if it is way off.
Are the colors in the dining room similar to those in the kitchen?
I like it. It looks like it could add a lot of color to a room.
well, we aren't getting it.....Steve pulled a "Santucci" on me and that always nixes anything.
The Santuccis were the original owner of the house.......favorite colors periwinkle blue and dusty rose, painted flowers.......in other words makes one want to barf. We called their design skills "farmhouse bleech".
So we reserve the right to "pull a Santucci" if we really hate it.
back to the drawing board..
Iflit, I like what you got, but now we've decided no red in the dining room.......

It comes in different colors- not just red. Click on the left hand side under the picture where it says: "Click color swatch to display detail view."
