Munk - we know Judith Martin, Nina is not her.
I have campaigned, hosted and attended fund raisers for many worthy candidates. I have marched against the death penalty. I have written papers on juveniles and the death penalty and abortion rights.
Thank you PJ and WCA again.

Bwaysinger, you say you only have your voice to contribute but that's all you need.
Monkey strap on, why does everyone else but me have the right to express their opion in this thread? Yes dear, I'm may be annoying in this thread but you, sweetheart, are annoying in every thread.

Monkey strap on? Come on, that's been said hundreds of times I was expecting you of all people to come up with something a LITTLE more creative.
I didn't say you didn't have the right to express your opinion. And I didn't say you shouldn't post. All I'm saying is that instead of talking about the issue, you were attacking others over and over and sounded VERY pretentious. I was just wondering who came in and deemed you Miss. Know-All.

Attacking? I asked a question and made it clear that I was not o be sarcastic.
I would love to know how my comments are seen as attacks when I am having a discussion like everyone else.
Sorry I couldn't be more creative. I'm a little tired today.

Well Nina, maybe I misunderstood your posts. To me, they seemed very cranky and snotty, but I could obviously be wrong. No hard feelings, I was just saying that you were annoying...

Wow, people are pming you to discuss me? I guess I should be flattered that I draw that kind of attention off stage.
You might think I'd be bothered by that but I can't take anyone too seriously if they would pm someone else the things they can't say to me directly. I've also been around long enough to understand people enough that it takes a hell of a lot more than that to bother me.

You are quite welcome and very true. This is Maureen's best column in recent memory.

Oh and here's the punchline to the Jeff Gannon story refrenced above:
The ex-Marine/White House piss prostitute...WAS NEVER IN THE MARINES!
Jeeez...next they'll be finding out he wasn't a TOP after all!
NO Military Service for Gannon/Guckert

I don't agree on how they are letting her die, but I do agree it is the right thing. I do not think this is a political issue. It is the family's.

Schindlers Suffer Another Setback in Fla.
Mar 24, 9:31 PM (ET)
By JACKIE HALLIFAX
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday refused to overturn a judge's order blocking the state from taking temporary custody of Terri Schiavo, another setback in her parents' battle to keep their brain-damaged daughter alive.
Gov. Jeb Bush wants the state Department of Children & Families to take custody of Schiavo, presumably to reinsert her feeding tube, and to investigate allegations that she has been abused and prove that she's not in a persistent vegetative state.
Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer earlier in the day denied Bush's request and has blocked the state from taking emergency action to intervene in the case while it appeals his decision.
As of Thursday afternoon, Schiavo, 41, had been without food or water for six full days and was showing signs of dehydration - flaky skin, dry tongue and lips, sunken eyes, according to attorneys and friends of her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler. Doctors have said she would probably die within a week or two of the tube being pulled.
Her parents have also been rebuffed by the U.S. Supreme Court and the Florida Senate.

So yesteday two polls indicate that Bush's job approval has fallen 5 points, in the 40s (43% in one). Now, he can't distance himself from this debacle fast enough. Somehow, I'm reminded of the Hal Phillip Walker taking off at the end of NASHVILLE, after Ronee Blakely is shot.
Apparently, no one stopped to think that many Republicans (and not just the Libertarian branch) get very queasy at so much Federal intervention in ANYTHING. That's why we keep seeing that startling 67% number, who support bowing out of the Terri crisis. When's the last time you saw 67% of this country agree on anything?

I heard Randall Terry with the parents this morning on NPR. They are aligned with one of the creepiest characters in the anti-choice movement.
